‘I Love You’ ballet flats from Topshop

i love you shoes I Love You ballet flats from TopshopThese shoes love you. Do you love THEM, though, that’s the question?

Well, I think shoes with writing on them are always rather hit-or-miss, and for me, they usually end up being a “miss”. With that said, something about these ones appeals to me: I like the pale yellow uppers, and they do make a change from the usual, very simple ballet pumps we see so much of.

What do you think of them? They’re £18 at Topshop. Do you love them back?

Georgina Goodman peep-toe ‘Kiss’ pumps

kiss pumps georgina goodman Georgina Goodman peep toe Kiss pumpsWe can always count on Georgina Goodman to do something interesting with her footwear designs, and these peep toe pumps have no less than three interesting features. The writing on the heel is the obvious one, of course, but the heel itself is also an unusual shape, with that little curve at the top, and then there’s the embellishment at the back, which we’ve seen Georgina Goodman do before, and which I still have no idea how to describe.

On a personal level, I can’t really imagine wanting to walk around with the word “kiss” on my feet (an invitation to passers-by to treat you like a goddess and kiss your feet, perhaps?) but I suspect it won’t be long before some celebrity or other shows up wearing these. Will you be wearing them, though? If you will, you can buy them at the Georgina Goodman website for £445.

Giuseppe Zanotti diamante letter peep toes

giuseppe zanotti peep toes Giuseppe Zanotti diamante letter peep toesI hate shoes with writing on them. Is that just me? I mean, I love my shoes. But I don’t want to READ my shoes. I don’t want other people to read my shoes. And I don’t want to read other people’s shoes. So basically, shoes + words = not for me. Especially when the words appear to be fairly nonsensical. I mean, “The love pull?” “A ire e the love pull?” Say what, Giuseppe Zanotti? What the hell’s THAT supposed to mean? Will other people know what that means? Am I alone in not knowing what “a ire e the love pull” means? Because that would be embarrassing.

The product description at Zappos doesn’t do much to clear up this mystery either. “Gloat your gorgeous self wearing these glamorously glitzy Giuseppe Zanotti pumps!” it says? Oooh-kaaay. That’s all as clear as something completely and utterly opaque, now. “Gloat yourself? Gloat yourself?” I’m very confused. Maybe I’m just not down with the kids. Actually, I’m going to draw this post to a close now before I reveal any more about how un-down with the kids I am. Get these at Zappos. They’re $795. Don’t forget to, er, gloat yourself while you’re wearing them.
