Dune ‘Melanie’ black and white bow peep toes

These shoes are also available in both silver and gold, but it’s this black and white version that appeals to me most: partly because I’m a sucker for this particular combination, but also because I can imagine wearing these in the daytime, while the other two colours are just a little bit too disco-tastic to get away with in my daily life!

I think these would look fantastic with a pencil skirt and tailored top, but they’d be equally fabulous dressed down with a pair of black skinny jeans. It just so happens that I have all of those items currently residing in my closet, so onto the Shoeper Wish List these go! If you want to add them to yours too (or just buy them and to hell with the “wishing”!), they’re £70, and you can get them here.

This is the second pair of black and gold shoes I’ve featured here today, but I hope you’ll forgive me for that once you’ve had the chance to gaze upon the loveliness of these Rupert Sanderson sandals.

These don’t look particularly “gladiator-like” to me, but I’m not going to quibble over the name when there are beautiful shoes to be looked at, and anyway, if ALL gladiator sandals were as gorgeous as these ones, I’d be a very happy Shoeperwoman. Of course, the combination of black and gold on a shoe has always been one of my favourites, but these are particularly nicely done, and are dressy without being fussy. The strong lines of these, plus that shiny gold, would make these perfect with a simple dress: they’re £693 at Louisa Via Roma.

Metallic heel peep toes by Jaeger London

Jaeger isn’t a brand I generally associate with fabulous shoes. In fact, I’ll be honest: it’s a brand I more often associate with smart suits and sensible midi-skirts. It would appear I’ve misjudged Jaeger, though, because just look at these black and gold heels! Aren’t they amazing? That gold heel is just so striking against the black suede, and I also love the chunky shape. Such a simple idea, but so beautifully executed that I can’t help but want a pair. Now.

These are £170, and if you want a pair too, you can buy them at My-Wardrobe.

Net-a-Porter describe these shoes as having an “old-world glamour”, and I think they got it spot-on there. I’m picturing them worn with a tailored tweed, 40s-style suit, and a jaunty little hat, possibly one a woman who’s standing at a railway station, clutching her handkerchief and trying to look brave. No, I have absolutely no idea where that came from.

They’re by Tabitha Simmons, and come in two diffeent colourways: the classic black and white, and the slightly more unexpected tan and green. Very cute, but also very pricey, they’re £695 at Net-a-Porter.

Two-tone t-bar court shoes from River Island

River Island are very good at making vertiginous high heels, but they also produce the occasional shoe that’s relatively “sensible” – and I say “relatively” because although these t-bars are a little less spindly than some of RI’s creations, that heel is still pretty high.

These would be great work shoes for anyone with a smart-ish dress code: the look is classic, but they’re still a little more interesting than the usual black courts we tend to see in offices around the land, and cute enough to be worn outside of work, too.

We’ve been seeing a lot of toe-cap pumps around lately, but Faith have gone for a lovely beige/brown mix with these ‘Clarency’ pumps, which makes them a little more unusual. The pink version which is also available is just a little too pink for my tastes, but I’m sure it’ll have its fans, too and the overall look of the shoe helps prevent it being too Barbie-esque.

This is a classic style, in some slightly unexpected colours, which help bring it up to date. These cost £65, and you can buy them here.

This particular shape of platform instantly makes me think of Nicholas Kirkwood, who I imagine was at least one of the inspirations behind Faith’s ‘Chezza’ peep toes.

Platform aside, I love the contrast of the black and white panels here, and the suede uppers and metallic lining give them a luxurious feel, too. Why must all of the shoes I like at the moment be suede: one of the worst possible fabrics for winter?

Get them here, for £70.

Fendi black and white swirl suede pumps

fendi-swirl-suede-pumos

At first glance, I though these were two different shoes. Happily, that turned out not to be the case: instead, it’s just a two-tone design, with black to the outside of the shoe and white on the inside. It’s certainly an interesting idea, but depending on how you stand, it WILL still run the risk of making you look like you put on two odd shoes by mistake – that’s how the Net-a-Porter model looks to me, but you, of course, may see these differently. If you do, they’re £470 and you can get them here.

Black and gold platfrom sandals from New Look

new-look-metallic-sandalsShoes that have some kind of “curved” detail on them generally have a good chance of appearing here on Shoeperwoman, and these New Look sandals are no exception. At just £30, they’re the kind of shoes you’d buy for a party, probably not expecting to get a huge amount of use out of them afterwards, but the black and silver uppers will be really versatile, and I reckon they could be a good buy if you have a busy party season coming up, and don’t want to have to spend too much on a pair of shoes.  The silver strap also has a vague Georgina Goodman/Nicholas Kirkwood feel about it, which is always a good thing in my book.

‘Sherbert’ bow platform shoes from Topshop

sherbert-bow-platform-shoes

I can’t believe I didn’t spot these shoes on the Topshop website when I was showing you those gold ‘Priscilla’ sandals last week! (Or, indeed, while I was buying that dress and lingerie on Saturday. Ahem. Ooh, but I did get these . I know they’re intended for Supergirl, but, you know: close enough.) While the ‘Priscilla’ sandals still look a lot like Shoe Punks to me, these babies are MUCH more my kind of thing. You don’t really need me to explain why, do you? No? Good. Let’s just look at them and appreciate them, then. Or, if you prefer, buy them: they’re £70 and you can get them here.
