I first spotted these shoes a few weeks ago, in some kind of promotional material for Miss Selfridge, and I’ve been waiting for them to appear on the website ever since, just so I could show them to you!
I think these are perfect Spring/Summer shoes, and the blend of hot pink suede and polka dot embellishment makes them lots of fun, and all you’d need to make an old pair of jeans or little black dress look instantly more interesting. These are only £45, and are one of a few styles I have my eyes on at Miss Selfridge this season. Get them here.
Oh, great: I’m going to have Elvis in my head ALL afternoon now! And granted, these aren’t quite the kind of “blue suede shoes” he was talking about, but if they were mine, I wouldn’t want anyone to step on them either. I love everything about these shoes: the colour is the obvious attraction (and hey, I don’t believe I currently own a pair of shoes in this particular shade of blue!), but the shape is also a draw for me, because although the platform is large, the heel has a slight curve to it, and the toe is fairly pointed, making these look a little less clumpy than many other platform designs.
These are also available in black, and if I didn’t already own more than enough pairs of black shoes already, I’d be coveting those, too. As it is, I’ll stick to the blue pair, which are £65 at ASOS.
P.S. I added a Google Friend Connect widget to the sidebar (over on the right). It’s the same thing as Blogger’s followers widget, so feel free to follow me, and make me feel a little less alone!
Sometimes (although not ALL the time) the simplest styles really are the best, and I think that’s proved by these red suede Miu Miu slingbacks. On paper, these wouldn’t sound like anything much to write home about, but in person (or in photographs, at least) they have so much impact, and that’s at least partly down to that vivid red colour of the uppers.
These have heels which are just a touch under 5″, although the platform sole should make them feel a little shorter. As for the price, well, as you would probably expect from Miu Miu, they’re not cheap, coming in at $575. Get them here.
Along with bows and hearts and jewels and, oh, all kinds of other things, I’m quite partial to a big ol’ knot on the front of a shoe. I know that sounds like a strange thing to be a fan of, but when you look at these knot-front suede court shoes from Faith, maybe you’ll see what I mean.
Orange is this season’s hot colour right now (no pun intended), but as much as I love the shoe on the left of this photo, I also really like the black version on the right, which would make an elegant pump for work, or for anything you want to look a little bit “smart” for. Lovely.
Probably not a great choice for any arachnophobia out there, these Roberto Cavalli suede sandals are designed to look like a giant spider web spread over the top of the foot.
The spidery effect is diminished somewhat by the color of these shoes: had they been black, they’d have had a very gothic feel to them, and would have run the risk of looking like part of a Halloween costume, but in this light grey, the spiderweb could easily be taken for a more generic pattern, although they’re still nicely unsual.
Yeah, I know: it’s a ruffle with a zip on it. Haven’t seen THAT before, have we?
Sarcasm aside, the “ruffle-trimmed-with-a-zip” look doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast, and more than one shoe designer seems to have wholly abandoned themselves to it lately. Faith are the latest brand aboard the bandwagon, with these ‘Clippy’ court shoes, and as much as I’m starting to find the zip/ruffle thing a little bit tired, I just can’t dislike these: not when they’re bright blue, suede, and cute. (And the black’s not bad either.) These also come with another benefit: a heel which is that bit lower than the usual skyscrapers, although it’s still not exactly what you’d call “low”.
Red Mary Janes. They’re one of those “everyone should have some” kind of styles, aren’t they? And I’ve just realised that I don’t. There’s a gaping hole in my closet where a pair of bright red Mary Janes should be. Ah, woe is me!
Sadly, these Rupert Sanderson shoes won’t be filling that hole, as much as I’d like them to. They’re £220, you see, and in the week before pay day, that’s not a sum that’s going to be spent on shoes. It IS the sale price, though: these originally cost twice as much as that, so they’re still a bargain of sorts, and if you want to get them while you still can, click here!
