These shoes are available in red, green and silver – a bit like a Christmas gift, then – but I’m showing you the green because of course they’re my favourites. As well as the lovely colour, however, these also offer a nice twist on the traditional party sandal, with their woven upper and slingback heel, and I like the fact that they’re minus any glitter, crystals or other embellishments, relying simply on the vibrant colour and great design.
I also like the fact that these are on sale: they’re down to £42, and you can click here to buy them from Dune.
These are the kind of shoes that could do some serious damage. To me, I mean. Because I’m such a klutz there’s just no telling what kind of trouble I could get into with these attached to my feet:
Let’s just hope they’re not as sharp as they look, hmm?
Danger aside, I think this is possibly the first time I’ve featured a pair of shoes with a cone embellishment. We’ve had bows, flowers, buttons… even faces and rodents and other strange items. But never cones, so kudos to Giuseppe Zanotti for being the first to break the “cones on shoes” drought.
What do you think of the shoes, though? Other than the fact that they’re wallet-breakingly expensive, obviously? (They’re £454: click here to buy them.)
River Island continues its reign of terror upon my bank account this month (And not just with shoes, I might add: a large number of their dresses have been leading me into temptation, too) with these pale green triple bow sandals. It’s actually been a while since I owned or wore strappy sandals, because I’ve never found them the most comfortable form of footwear in the world, but the lovely colours of these ones could easily change my mind: I’m really loving white dresses at the moment, as I may have mentioned once or twice or twenty times, and these would be so sweet with one.
These are £49.99 and you can click here to buy a pair.
Topshop are on a ROLL right now, shoe-wise, aren’t they? It’s actually reached the point where I’m almost afraid to look at their website each day, because I know there’s a good possibility of it containing something new and delicious to tempt me. (See also River Island, ASOS.com…)
These ‘Loretta’ sandals have been on my radar for a while now. They come in black, lilac and tan, and I really like the strapiness of them, and the way the side straps frame the bow on the front. Lovely with dresses, or worn casually with jeans, these are £70. Click here to buy them.
I’m obsessed with yellow at the moment. Totally obsessed. I’d wear it from head to toe if I possibly could but, well, that would look kinda stupid, wouldn’t it? And bright. Veeeeery bright. I’d look like a Popsicle, in fact. But I digress…
This particular shade of bright yellow can be difficult to wear because, as glorious as it is (it’s the colour of sunshine, in a child’s painting. How could you NOT be cheered up by that?), it’s so bright it’s going to totally dominate most other shades. And that’s why I particularly like these Sigerson Morrison sandals: because the strappy uppers will tone down the colour just enough to make them wearable, without toning it down so much that it loses its exuberance. Oh, and the shape is rather lovely, too.
These are $650 (ouch!), are also available in black, and can be purchased at Neiman Marcus: click here to do it.
These definitely aren’t the most conventional of Christian Louboutin’s offerings, but they are one of his more memorable styles, so I’m duly offering them up as your Friday Fix, and you can decide for yourself what you think of them.
These are called ‘Police’, they’re designed to look like a measuring tape wound around the foot, and they’ll probably be popular with dressmakers (or people who want to make a statement about fashion, and its obsession with size) and less so with those of you who are sensitive about the size of your feet or ankles. Oh, and they’re $795 at Neiman Marcus.
At a time of year when I’m wearing boots almost every day, and summer still seems a very long way away, these floral sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti are just a breath of fresh air – or maybe that should be “a whiff of fresh flowers”?
Delicate and feminine in that way that only a pair of flower-bedecked sandals can be, these have a nude upper and a 4.5″ heel, and would make a beautiful pair of wedding shoes (with the added bonus of not being so weddingy you’d never be able to wear them again afterwards), although I also love the way Net-a-Porter have styled them, with a simple shift dress which allows the footwear to be the focal point of the outfit. (Just the way it should be…)
High, metallic sandals are so ubiquitous, especially at this time of year, that they have to be really special to stand out in the crowd. These Jimmy Choo ‘Zinc’ sandals managed to make the cut, mostly because of that wonderful cracked leather, which I always think looks a little more glamorous than ordinary leather, and which has a great shine to it, too.
The intricate cut-outs also merit a mention here: they cover the whole foot, but the overall look is still subtle enough to allow you to wear them with just about anything.
