Max Kibardin shoe booties: more wings for your heels

wing heeled shoes Max Kibardin shoe booties: more wings for your heelsLooks like Irregular Choice aren’t the only ones to go for the “Hermes, messenger of the Gods” theme this season. No sooner had I finished writing about their flat winged sandals, than my x-ray vision picked up these winged shoe boots by Max Kibardin, which have a similar theme, but without the “strictly for summer holidays” vibe of the Irregular Choice shoes.

These have a bit of a superhero vibe, which is naturally appreciated by yours truly, but I’m curious to know what the rest of you think of them? At $810, these definitely aren’t a budget buy: so, would you buy them?

Jimmy Choo sandals on sale at The Outnet

jimmy choo shoes Jimmy Choo sandals on sale at The Outnet

It only launched a couple of weeks ago, but already the first thing I do every morning is check the shoe section of TheOutnet.com. And then I check it again. And again. And.. oh, you get the picture.

This is basically Net-a-Porter’s warehouse, with old stock from the site being sold at what can sometimes be a serious discount. The problem with this – and the reason I’ve started to hate The Outnet almost as much as I love it – is that things sell out fast. Really fast. So fast, in fact, that even I, with my supersonic speed on the keyboard, have not yet managed to grab something in my size.

My loss is your gain, though: or it is if you’re a size 39.5 or 40, anyway, and have a few hundred pounds to spare on shoes. The Jimmy Choo sandals pictures above are only comparatively cheap: the ‘Electra’ sandals on the right of the picture are £325 and the lace suede sandals are £337.80, so they’re still what I would call “pretty damn expensive”, but you are saving over £100 on the original price,  so you may consider it a good deal.

Even if you don’t, I’ve seen Louboutins and Miu Mius come up on this site for around £140, so it’s well worth keeping your x-ray vision trained on it, just in case.

Shoe Kryptonite: Patent open toe pumps by Pierre Hardy

OK, I’m just going to be honest with you: if you choose to stick around, you’re going to be seeing a lot of peep toes on this site. Don’t say you haven’t been warned.

Peep toes are the most effective form of kryptonite ever invented as far as your shoe superhero is concerned. They quite literally make me weak at the knees. Add in a super-high stiletto heel and a super-sexy, curvy design, and I’m basically putty in their hands. Or in their feet, as the case may be.

These ones are by Pierre Hardy, and they’re also available in bright pink. Aren’t they just shoeper?

Valentino red patent stiletto peep toe shoes with bow

If you’ve read any of my other blogs, you’ll already know that I love me some bows. Quite a lot, actually. In fact, show me a show with a big ol’ bow stuck to the front, and I’ll generally show you my credit card in return. This is lucky for me (although not so for the aforementioned credit card) because there are a LOT of shoes around at the moment in this style. A LOT.

The absolute King of the Bows, however, is Valentino, and these red patent peep toes are a perfect example.  The bow on the front of these is definitely one of the more extravagant out there, and that makes these instantly recognisable:  in fact, I’m sure I recognised them being worn by the model in the advert for the new Dove deodorant a few weeks ago – take from that what you will.

Of course, such shoes don’t come cheap: you can buy these direct from the Valentino website, but they’ll cost you £410.
