Blue and red suede ‘Wiggle’ slingbacks from Dune

blue suede slingback shoes Blue and red suede Wiggle slingbacks from Dune

This is a good example of one of those times when I find a pair of shoes and think to myself “Why have these not been on Shoeperwoman yet? WHY?”

It’s also one of those times where I show you a  beautiful pair of shoes and then say, “Oh, by the way, these are almost sold out now, sorry.” Don’t despair though, my lovelies, because while they are, indeed, almost sold out online, I always find you have a much better chance of finding items in-store at sale time (and as some of you with very long memories may recall from this post, I’ve found Dune to be super-helpful in the past about tracking down specific shoes, so it’s always worth a go.)

As for the shoes themselves, I’m really finding myself drawn to closed-toe slingbacks at the moment, because they’re great transitional styles, and can work with bare legs in the summer and a pair of tights in the winter. The colours this style comes in are also guaranteed to get me searching for my wallet (which I’m actually going to ask Shoeperman to hide for me, to avoid situations like this), so the only question that remains would be which colour to choose.

    Which would you go for?

(Click here to view these on the Dune website.)

Teal suede jewelled slingbacks from Zara

Here’s another pair of shoes Zara have been trying to tempt me with lately. These are part of the current collection, which means they’ve been right there to try on in every store I’ve visited this month, and I actually think they’re prettier in real life than they are in these photos. Not that they aren’t pretty in the photos, too, mind you:

That’s one blinged-up peep toe right there.

I’d normally find this much embellishment on the toe of a shoe way too much, but it somehow works on this one. I must admit, though, it’s really the teal suede that makes these a winner for me.

What do you think of them? They’re £69.99, and you can click here to buy a pair.

Pink and turquoise slingback platforms from River Island

I’m frequently bemoaning the fact that every time I find shoes I love in a bright colour, they always seem to be suede (which I love, but which isn’t always the most practical of fabrics), so when found these ones at River Island, I jumped on them. I mean, not literally, obviously. That would be shoe abuse. But I did pounce on them in a strictly figurative, internet-only kinda way, and now here they are, for you to pounce on, too.

I actually own these shoes in – what else – green suede, and really love them, because as well as being beautiful to look at, they’re also one of the more comfortable pairs of heels I own. These bright pink and turquoise versions (they’re also available in black) are a web exclusive, and are £59.99. Click here to go get ‘em!

Dune ‘Daisy’ pink and white slingback shoes

dune daisy slingback shoes Dune Daisy pink and white slingback shoesDune have been making some really lovely shoes this summer – in fact, I’m almost afraid to look at their website because every time I do, I seem to find something else to add to my wish list.

The latest pair of shoes to catch my attention are these ‘Daisy’ slingbacks, which combine a white canvas upper with a pink suede sole and trim, and a gorgeous, multicoloured daisy, which gives the shoes their name. When I look at these I instantly think they’d be perfect for a day at the races, for some reason. I don’t have any such days planned, however, but, well, I’m sure I could work something out.

These are £85: click here to buy them.

It’s hard to go wrong with a pair of simple red slingbacks, and while these ones don’t quite have the rampant sex appeal of some of Christian Louboutin’s shoes they combine a fabulous colour with a wearable shape, and that’s enough for me to love them.

I’m apparently not the only one to love them, because these are currently sold out on the Louboutin website, but look out for them at the regular stockists, and click here to see some more images.

There’s something about a bright red stiletto that’s guaranteed to pull me in every time. Take these ones from Zara, for instance (and trust me, I wish I could take them…): even although the very last thing I need right now is another pair of red shoes, as soon as I laid eyes on these, I wanted them. The perfect colour, the perfect shape, and – unusually – the perfect price, too, at just £29.99.

Let’s just say it’s a good job these are sold out in my size.

If they’re still available in yours, click here, buy them, and think of me when you wear them, will you?

Because of all the recent bank holidays, it’s been a while since our last Friday Night Louboutin fix. I’m re-starting the tradition this week, however, with the Exclu 100 lace and satin slingbacks, which are £495 at Net-a-Porter. The delicate lace uppers and satin heel and platform here are topped with a cute little bow:

The perfect thing to glance down at every so often while you’re quaffing champagne somewhere fabulous. Well, that’s how I like to imagine wearing them, anyway…
