    Faith’s orange ‘Lucy’ slingback sandals

faith kucy sandals Faiths orange Lucy slingback sandals

This is about the fourth pair of orange shoes I’ve spotted in the past week alone, which makes me think orange is probably going to be a big colour for this summer. I’ve surprised myself by liking almost all of them so far, but these ‘Lucy’ slingbacks from Faith aren’t going onto my wish list. Without the crystals, they just might have made it: they have a lovely shape, and as I said, I’m fairly digging the ol’ orange right now, but embellishments like this always look really cheap to me, and these in particular have a bit of a “DIY” look to them, as if the shoe didn’t originally look like that, and someone just came along and stuck on the “jewels” for a joke. It’s a shame, because they’d have been rather lovely without them.

If you think they’re fine just as they are, these are £70, are also available in silver, and you can buy a pair here.

Red peep toe bow slingback shoes from River Island

red shoes river island Red peep toe bow slingback shoes from River IslandNow here’s a pair of shoes that have “Shoeperwoman” written all over them! Well, not literally, obviously: that would be a bit weird, to be honest. These are everything I like about shoes at the moment, though: the red uppers (River Island actually describe these as “orange”, so they may be worth looking at in person), the knotted bow, and that cute, triangular heel, which looks like it could be fairly comfortable to walk on.

These are also fairly affordable: they’re £44.99 and you can buy them here.

Lucky Brand ‘Becky’ heart-front flat slingbacks

flat shoes with hearts Lucky Brand Becky heart front flat slingbacksI seem to have made it my mission in life (or one of them, anyway) to show you every pair of heart-embellished shoes ever made, so today I’m dutifully reporting the existence of these ‘Becky’ flats by Lucky Brand.

The colour is described as “carrot”, which is a trifle unusual, but these look more tan than orange on my monitor, and I think they’d be perfect for a cute, casual look: the fact that the heart is the same colour as the rest of the shoe means it’s a little less “in your face” than some heart-fronted shoes I could mention.

Want to try them on? They’re $79 at Piperlime.

    Brian Atwood gold slingbacks, £270

I’m pretty sure now that Brian Atwood has been sent to destroy me. I mean, would you just look at these gold slingbacks: they’re simple, yes, but to a shoe addict such as myself, they’re still almost irresistible. The pale gold, go-with-anything color, the sleek lines, the delicate shape… I absolutely love them, and think they’d be wonderful party shoes, or would even make a good pair of wedding shoes (with the added bonus that you’d be able to wear them again, afterwards),

Given how much I like them, then, I need hardly even add that they’re sold out in my size (Which indicates that Yoox.com were sent to destroy me, too. The enemies of a shoe superhero are many…), but if you want to see if they’re available in yours, take a look here.

Shoe Deja Vu: Valentiono/Forever 21 bow slingbacks

forever 21 valentino shoes Shoe Deja Vu: Valentiono/Forever 21 bow slingbacks

Those Valentino slingbacks I showed you back in May are fast becoming one of the most copied styles of the year. Paris Hilton is just one of the “designers” (I use that word in its loosest sense, you understand) to have been “inspired” (ditto) by them, and now Forever 21 are at it, too. Their version is black rather than the red, and the bow isn’t quite so jaunty, but the style is still unmistakable. They’re certainly cheaper than their designer counterparts, though: these shoes will set you back just $19.80 – which is cheaper that ol’ Paris’s versions, too.

Dune’s Jeanie country check knotted slingbacks

dune slingback shoes Dunes Jeanie country check knotted slingbacksAfter the over-the-top wonder of the Brian Atwood shoes I showed you earlier today, here’s something a little more restrained, but still lovely.

Dune’s ‘Jeanie’ pumps would be perfect for work-wear, although I kinda wish they’d given them a normal back, rather than this slingback: it looks great, but the front of the shoe says “winter” to me, and a slingback says either “summer” or “evening. These don’t really strike me as an evening shoe, either, but they’d definitely make glam day wear!

Ted Baker’s ‘Lansa’ bow slingback shoes

ted baker bow slingbacks Ted Bakers Lansa bow slingback shoesLet’s face it, there’s not really all that much you can do to a humble, bow-front slingback to make it seem like a fresh and original concept. I still think Ted Baker deserves some Brownie points for this one, though, although most of those points have been awarded for the particularly nice job on the bow. I really like the pink and purple version of this shoe, with its extravagant looking bow: the black, however, would also make a nice, slightly more sensible looking evening shoe.

    These are £90 from Office.

Harajuku Lovers ‘Laila’ slingbacks in lemon and green

Harajuku Lovers Harajuku Lovers Laila slingbacks in lemon and green

Yellow is a colour a lot of people seem to dislike, or at least have trouble wearing, but I’m quite partial to it at this time of year, and the lemon and green combination on these  Harajuku Lovers slingbacks is certainly very fresh looking.

Really, though, it’s the tiny little red hearts on the front of these shoes that I like: very cute, but not sickeningly so, and the simple shape of the shoe makes it much less fussy than the words “four hearts on the toe” would suggest.

These are a relatively affordable $80, and you can get them at Zappos.
