Red or Dead Rainbow Star Heel Red or Dead Rainbow Star Heels

Well, to think here was I thinking that winter footwear was always:

    a) Duller than a dull day in Dullsville

    or

    b) Covered in glitter

These shoes are neither dull nor covered in glitter, so they’ve already proved me wrong twice over. That said, they’re not exactly my style either, as the star and rainbow design is a little too reminiscent of some of the pieces of art I used to bring home from primary school. Still, I’m sure there are lots of people out there who will absolutely love these, so for the benefit of those people, these are by Red or Dead, they’re £90, and if you can wait just a week or so longer, they will be available at Schuh at the end of November, just in time for the first round of Christmas parties!

Red bow t-bar court shoes from Schuh

schuh red bow t bar shoes Red bow t bar court shoes from SchuhI wasn’t actually going to show you these shoes because I want them all for myself they’re pretty similar to the red “Prince” platforms I featured a few months ago, but then, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t jump at the chance to write about a pair of red shoes with a bow on the toe, would I?

In my defence, these are a little different: they’re suede rather than leather, they’re t-bars rather than ankle straps, the bow is on the toe, rather than on the strap… actually, when you put it that way, it almost seems like you should buy them BOTH, doesn’t it?

    (I’m kidding)

    (Maybe.)

Don’t like bright red? These are also available in black, and the good news is that the black version is reduced to £48, compared to the £68 you’ll pay for the red. Click here to buy them.

These shoes won’t actually be available to buy until late October, so if you love them, please accept my apologies for showing you something you can’t have just yet.

They’re Schuh’s ‘Princess’ wedges, and for me, they fall into the category of “probably woudn’t wear them, but couldn’t possibly not show you them.” Quite a few shoes fall into this category, now I come to think of it…

With their gold/blue/pink uppers, these are giving off a strong 70s disco vibe. In fact, I’m going to have ‘Night Fever’ stuck in my head ALL DAY now, thanks to this.

These are £75, are also available in silver, and, as I said, they won’t be available for another few weeks yet. If you head over to Schuh, though, I’m sure you’ll find something to console yourself with in the meantime…

Schuh ‘Colette’ cameo brooch court high heels

The classic black pump is one of the hardest shoes to get right. It shouldn’t really be this way. sure, they’re rarely the most interesting shoes in the world, but most of us will buy a pair at SOME point in our lives (I just totally made that “fact” up, by the way, but I’m willing to bet it’s true), so you’d think you’d be able to walk into just about any shoe store and find the perfect black pumps, just waiting for you, wouldn’t you?

It’s not so, though. In fact, the search for the PBP (Perfect Black Pumps) can be a long and hard one, fraught with peril, but luckily I’m here to make it a little easier on you by showing you these ‘Colette’ pumps from Schuh, which come with a cute little cameo brooch on the front.

Now, I adore these shoes. I love cameo brooches on anything, really, but attach one to a shoe and you get a particularly pleasing, vintage kind of look which is also a bit decadent, somehow. These also have a super-sexy arch, a nice, curvy heel, and are reasonably priced at £60.

“So, why aren’t you buying them, Shoeperwoman?” I hear you cry. Well, there’s just one problem: they’re too high. Yes, you read that right. And no, they’re not too high in the sense that I wouldn’t be able to walk in them, or don’t like the look of them: very much the contrary, in fact! But right now, I’m actually in the market for a slightly lower pair of black pumps: I have a couple of dresses and pairs of trousers which just don’t look quite right with platforms or very high heels, so while I may well buy the ‘Colette’ pumps one of these days, for now it’s actually these shoes which have gone onto my Wish List:

plain black court shoes Schuh Colette cameo brooch court high heelsSchuh ‘Flynn’ court shoes, £60

Now, I know: these aren’t nearly as pretty or interesting, but it just so happens that they’re almost exactly what I’m looking for at the moment: a simple black pump with a pointed (but not too pointed) toe, and no platform. And, having tried them on in store this week, I can confirm that they’re actually much nicer in real life than they are in the photo, and the toe really isn’t as pointed as the angle makes it look.

I can tell you’re not convinced, though, so here’s the bright blue version, which I also love:

    Shoeperwoman Shops the Schuh Sale

The Schuh sale also started this week. This has actually rather upset me because:

    a) There are about a hundred pairs of shoes I’d like to buy from it (and I’m not exaggerating), but I’ve promised myself I won’t buy any more shoes now, at least until NEXT payday.

    b) This happened:

schuh garda wedges Shoeperwoman Shops the Schuh Sale

    Schuh ‘Garda’ wedges, £39.99

And I paid full price for them. Don’t you just HATE it when that happens?

Here are some more shoes I’d buy if it wasn’t for that pesky ban:

schuh prince platforms Shoeperwoman Shops the Schuh Sale

    Green ‘Prince’ platforms, £39.99

Yes, I know they’re green. But they’re NOT SUEDE. I don’t have green shoes that aren’t suede. Enough said.

schuh thelma courts Shoeperwoman Shops the Schuh SaleSchuh ‘Thelma’ courts, £39.99

Just adorable, especially with one of those 50s style skirts I’m currently obsessed with.

1118527270 main Shoeperwoman Shops the Schuh SaleSchuh ‘Cleo’ heels, £34.99

These aren’t something I’d generally go for – they’re a little too clumpy at the front – but they’re available in two different fabrics, and something about the quirky prints and chunky shape reminds me of Miu Miu’s collection from last season.

schuh pretty tie court shoes Shoeperwoman Shops the Schuh SaleSchuh ‘Pretty Tie’ court shoes, £39.99

Minnie Mouse shoes. But in a good way.

And now I’m going to go and take all my credit cards and throw them into a fire, so I can resist the temptation of these, and all of the other beautiful shoes in this sale. I’ll be weeping on my bed, if anyone needs me…

Schuh ‘Yana’ turquoise suede court shoes

I’ve had my beady little eyes on these shoes fir a while now, and I bet I don’t have to explain why, do I?

First up, is the colour. It’s the perfect shade of turquoise/pale green – I could look at it all day, and while the fact that Schuh have added a metallic flower embellishment in the same colour certainly helps add to the effect, these would’ve been almost as striking without it, thanks to that gorgeous shade of green. I’m also really liking the trend for chunkier heels that’s going on at the moment: these are 4.7″ high, but still look like they’d be relatively comfortable – and don’t worry, there’s also a concealed platform, to make them feel lower than they are.

These are also available in black, and are £75. Click here to buy them.

These shoes want to go dancing. You can tell by the heel, can’t you? What’s more, they want to go dancing with ME. On my feet. And I want to let them, because seriously, who could resist these heels?

purple glitter heels1 Schuh purple suede Pretty Glitter high heels

Not me, that’s for sure: and I say that as someone who doesn’t own any glitter-covered shoes at the moment, and didn’t think this Tuesday was the day she’d suddenly start coveting a pair.

Resist them I will, however, if only because I’ve bought one pair of “schuhs” already this month, and I just can’t justify any more. There’s always next month, though…

New Shoes # 72: Schuh ‘Garda’ gingham wedges

red gingham wedges New Shoes # 72: Schuh Garda gingham wedges

I mentioned recently that I’d probably be buying Shoeperwoman.com some new shoes to celebrate its second blog birthday, and here they are: Schuh’s ‘Garada’ wedges! And given that Shoeperwoman.com is actually a website and doesn’t have any feet, it looks like I’ll just have to wear these for it: ah, well!

I loved these shoes as soon as I laid eyes on them, but they were pretty expensive for a pair of canvas wedges, so I must admit that when I placed the order last week, I wasn’t totally sure whether I’d be able to justify keeping them or not. As soon as I opened the box, though, I knew these shoes would be going nowhere (unless they were going on my feet, obviously), because the photos don’t do justice to them, and in real life they’re even prettier than I’d expected: the perfect summer shoes, basically!

red gingham platform wedges New Shoes # 72: Schuh Garda gingham wedges

I ordered my usual size, which are a good fit, although the toe is fairly narrow, so if you have wide feet, you may need to go up a size in these. Other than that, they seem pretty comfortable, although so far I’ve only worn them to try them on, so I guess I’ll find out how comfortable they REALLY are when I actually try wearing them all day.

Welcome to the shoe shelves, pair number 72! Well, I did say there would be more red fabric wedges, didn’t I?
