Black and gold platfrom sandals from New Look

new look metallic sandals Black and gold platfrom sandals from New LookShoes that have some kind of “curved” detail on them generally have a good chance of appearing here on Shoeperwoman, and these New Look sandals are no exception. At just £30, they’re the kind of shoes you’d buy for a party, probably not expecting to get a huge amount of use out of them afterwards, but the black and silver uppers will be really versatile, and I reckon they could be a good buy if you have a busy party season coming up, and don’t want to have to spend too much on a pair of shoes.  The silver strap also has a vague Georgina Goodman/Nicholas Kirkwood feel about it, which is always a good thing in my book.

Dune ‘Beau’ double bow detailed sandals

dune bow sandals Dune Beau double bow detailed sandalsI know they look nothing like each other, but at first glance, these Dune sandals reminded me of the Chloe bow shoes I showed you a couple of weeks back -probably because they’re both high-legged, and with multiple bows.

I generally have a “one bow per shoe” rule, which these are clearly breaking, but even so, I actually like them better than the Chloe shoes, particularly in the metallic version, which could be an interesting alternative to the traditional strappy sandal for an evening out. Sandals with high ankles like this are certainly very popular at the moment too, but what do you think of these ones?

High vamp cut-out boots by Red Herring at Debenhams

debenhams strappy boots High vamp cut out boots by Red Herring at Debenhams

I’d quibble with Debenham’s description of these as “boots”, because to me they look like sandals, albeit ones with rather thick straps.  Naming issues aside, though, I think these look much more expensive than the £35 price tag. Sure, the gold versions are a little bit on the shiny side, and probably only suitable for evenings out, but I think the black ones could look good with skinny jeans, leggings or even some skirts and dresses. They have a strappy, rocky look about them which is very fashionable right now, but the price is reasonable enough to let you try out that trend without having to re-mortgage your home for it.

Killah bow back detail heeled sandals

Bored of bows on the toes? (Oh, hey! Poetry!) Well, how about wearing them on your heels, instead?

Killah is yet another brand I don’t remember really noticing before, but I’ve written about them twice this week already, so maybe that should tell me something. I think these bow-back sandals are just the right ride of “twee”, and if they cost a little less than £70, which I just can’t justify after my recent shoe expenditure, I’d probably be very tempted by them.

If you don’t like the bow, meanwhile, it looks to me like it probably comes off, leaving you with a plain red sandal. That would kinda defeat the purpose of paying £70 for a pair of sandals, though, so I’d personally leave them as they are, looking all playful and cute.

These are also available in black, and you can buy them from ASOS.com.

Ash studded ankle strap sandals

Studded shoes have been all over the place for what feels like a really long time now. This is, of course, good news if you’re a lover of the sudded look, and probably very bad news if you aren’t.

Me, I’m somewhere in between: I think studs can look fantastic on shoes when they’re done right, and I think these ankle-strap sandals by Ash are a good example of “studs done right”. Although almost every inch of these shoes is studded, they somehow manage to avoid looking OTT, and instead are the kind of thing I can imagine throwing on with summer dresses or skirts: they’re help toughen up a floaty dress nicely, but they’re still an elegant shape themselves, and will also look good worn casually with jeans.

Giuseppe Zanotti nude and black cutout patent sandals

After the horror of those gladiator sandals in the previous post, I needed something beautiful to look at, and so I turned to another favourite shoe designer, Giuseppe Zanotti.

I’ve loved these nude and black patent sandals since I first laid eyes on them, a few months ago. The colour combination and shape combine to make these very elegant, with just a touch of drama coming from those black patent uppers. They look lovely on, too – The Fashion Police spotted them on Drew Barrymore  a few weeks ago, and they looked stunning worn with a simple black dress.

They’re $650 from Net-a-Porter.

L.A.M.B’s Lesley One Band Feather Sandals

Apologies for writing about L.A.M.B again so soon after the last time, but I spotted these ‘Lesley’ sandals at Shopbop today, and wondered what you all think of  them,

Now, I’m no friend of feathers. It’s one of those irrational, not-quite-a-phobia things that I can’t rationally explain, but feathers tend to creep me out a little bit – or at least they do when they’re not attached to birds.  So these shoes don’t really do it for me, even although they’re unusual and dramatic enough to get my attention, and I usually love L.A.M.B shoes (with the exception of those last ones).

What do you think of them? If you love them, they’re $355 from Shopbop.

Jimmy Choo sandals on sale at The Outnet

jimmy choo shoes Jimmy Choo sandals on sale at The Outnet

It only launched a couple of weeks ago, but already the first thing I do every morning is check the shoe section of TheOutnet.com. And then I check it again. And again. And.. oh, you get the picture.

This is basically Net-a-Porter’s warehouse, with old stock from the site being sold at what can sometimes be a serious discount. The problem with this – and the reason I’ve started to hate The Outnet almost as much as I love it – is that things sell out fast. Really fast. So fast, in fact, that even I, with my supersonic speed on the keyboard, have not yet managed to grab something in my size.

My loss is your gain, though: or it is if you’re a size 39.5 or 40, anyway, and have a few hundred pounds to spare on shoes. The Jimmy Choo sandals pictures above are only comparatively cheap: the ‘Electra’ sandals on the right of the picture are £325 and the lace suede sandals are £337.80, so they’re still what I would call “pretty damn expensive”, but you are saving over £100 on the original price,  so you may consider it a good deal.

Even if you don’t, I’ve seen Louboutins and Miu Mius come up on this site for around £140, so it’s well worth keeping your x-ray vision trained on it, just in case.
