    ASOS frill front pointed shoes

asos frill front shoes ASOS frill front pointed shoesLooks like the fashion world’s obsession with ruffle-fronted shoes still isn’t over, then. We’ve seen multiple different (or not-so-different, as the case may be) versions of this style recently, and still they keep on coming!

These shoes are ASOS.com’s take on the trend, and with those shiny, metallic uppers (which actually look much nicer up close than they do here), they’re a slightly more party-ready version than most of the others. I’m not sure if the frill is detachable or not, but I can tell you that these have just been reduced in price, and are now just £32. Get them here.

    Ravel’s ‘Dreamy’ ruffle court shoes

ravel dreamy court shoes Ravels Dreamy ruffle court shoes

I was gutted when Ravel went bust a couple of years ago. As a teenager, I always loved their shoes, which somehow seemed a little more “special” than some of the other high street brands that were around at the time, so it was a sad day when they announced they were closing their doors for good.

The shops may have gone, however, but the brand still lives on, albeit in a slightly reduced fashion. Viva la Diva have just added a new collection of Ravel shoes to their website, however, with these ‘Dreamy’ court shoes above them. I love the bright pink and black mix, but I’m not quite so sure of the ruffle, which for some reason is reminding me of a jellyfish.  Great to see Ravel still alive and well, though: these are £65 and you can buy them here.

Celebrity Shoes: Dominika Wolski in Emma Cook for Topshop ruffle platforms

LFI PROJECT002 Celebrity Shoes: Dominika Wolski in Emma Cook for Topshop ruffle platforms

Aha!  I’m afraid I’d never heard of Dominika Wolski until today, but I HAD heard of her shoes: they’re the Emma Cook for Topshop ruffle platforms I showed you back in June, and I was really pleased to stumble upon this photo, because I’d been wondering what they’d look like on an actual foot, and now I know.

These clearly aren’t for everyone, and I have a feeling they’d be pretty difficult to style, but I think they’re rather wonderful to look at. To wear? Probably not, and I don’t think I’d buy them, but if you want to, I suspect eBay is probably your best bet, unless you can track them down in a Topshop store.

Read on to see what Dominika wore with them…

BE & D Kan Kan Platform Sandals with Ruffle T Strap

ruffle t straps BE & D Kan Kan Platform Sandals with Ruffle T StrapBE & D isn’t a brand I’m familiar with, but I’m liking what I’ve seen so far, which is these ruffle-front t-bar sandals.  (I’m also liking the way I keep reading their name as ‘BED’, but that’s neither here nor there). The ruffle has been done to death this season, of course, but these shoes prove that there are still ways to keep it fresh.

I have a feeling these shoes won’t be for everyone, especially when I reveal that they cost $655 (ouch!) but if they ARE for you, you can pick up a pair at Shopbop.

    Matalan’s red ruffle shoes, revisited

matalan ruffle shoes Matalans red ruffle shoes, revisited

Well, I bought the Matalan ruffle shoes. Of COURSE I did. I mean, you didn’t seriously think I’d continue to resist them, did you?

As predicted, these sold out online very quickly last week, so I was forced to actually visit the store in person to hunt them down. Luckily, though, there was no “hunting” involved, as my local branch had just had a new shoe delivery, so they had lots of pairs, in black and purple as well as in the bright red. Of course, it was the red shoes I was interested in, so it was the red ones I bought. I had to go up a size in these: the pointed toe meant that my usual size 4 was too small, so I had to go for the 5 instead. The size 5s are actually a little bit too big, but nothing that an insole or a pair of thick tights in the winter won’t be able to solve.

Matalan’s ruffle-front Louboutin lookalikes now available in red

matalan ruffle front shoes Matalans ruffle front Louboutin lookalikes now available in redMatalan’s ruffle-front shoes caused a bit of a stir when they first came out a couple of months ago, not least because they looked a whole lot like Christian Louboutin’s ‘Dillian’ pumps.

At the time, the only thing that really put me off buying them was the bright orange colour, which I didn’t think would work with most of my wardrobe. Now, though, Matalan have just released the same shoes in bright red. It’s like they’re trying to force me to buy them. Red shoes are a particular weakness of mine, and while I’m still not sure a ruffle that large would work well away from the runway or red carpet, it IS detachable, and the shoe underneath is rather nice too.

Did I mention they’re only £18? Oh, Matalan, why must you place temptation in my way like this?

    L.A.M.B. “Randi” Ruffle Peeptoe Pumps

Given that these shoes can be described using the words “pink” and “ruffled”, it would’ve been all too easy for them to have ended up looking sickeningly girlie. I think they’ve managed to escape that fate, though, and although they’re still sweet, they’re not too sugary. Perhaps the black accents against the pink upper can be thanked for that, but whatever the reason, these are a nice pair of dress shoes, which look totally different – and a little tougher – when you see them in the all-black option.

Both colours are available at Bloomingdales, where these will set you back $345.

Shoe Deja Vu: Love Label’s version of Christian Louboutin’s ‘Dillian’

love lable ruffle shoes Shoe Deja Vu: Love Labels version of Christian Louboutins Dillian

Love Label are far from the only shoe brand to bring out a version of Christian Louboutin’s ‘Dillian’ pumps this year (you may remember me writing about Matalan’s versions a few weeks ago), but I actually think theirs are my favourites so far: not because they’re most like the originals, because they’re not, but just because they’re the prettiest. (And I really like the red paired with navy tights, too.)

These are also available in grey and black, and are only £36. I’m tempted.
