Tabitha Simmons red polka dot slingback shoes

You know, I’m really growing to love Tabitha Simmons. In a strictly platonic, admirer-of-her-shoes kind of way, I mean. These are the third pair of her shoes I’ve featured here this year, and the second to be completely covered in polka dots. You can see why I like this designer, can’t you?

Add the red uppers, gorgeous stiletto heel and small platform to the general dottiness, and I’m sold. The shoes, on the other hand are NOT sold – or at least not to me – because they cost £570. If you want them to be sold to you, head over to Net-a-Porter to claim them.

Irregular Choice ‘Pep In Your Step’ polka dot platform shoes

You know, despite loving a lot of their work (and, er, hating a lot of it, too), I don’t actually own a pair of shoes by Irregular Choice. I feel like that’s something I should rectify, and while I don’t think these ‘Pep In Your Step’ shoes are going to be The Ones (they’re a little too chunky for my taste, although that’s part of the appeal with this style), I do like to look at them. That over-sized rosette on the toe is the main attraction for me, but I’m also keen on the polka dots, and the fact that they come in two of my favourite colours, red and navy.

Like them? They’re £59.99 at Dollydagger.

Moschino red peep toes with bow detail

moschino red peep toes Moschino red peep toes with bow detailI wish Yoox.com had provided a photo of these Moschino peep toes from the back: they look like they just might be wonderful, in a rather kitsch, 80′s fashion way, but the bow on the heel is the stand-out detail, and you just can’t see it properly because of the angle of the photo. There also looks like there’s an odd little elastic strap at the heel which I can’t quite see the use for, so another photo (or seeing them in real life) would help clear up that little mystery too.

Those points aside, the more I look at these shoes, the more I like them. The shape of the peep toe is particularly nice, and these have something of a fairytale feel to them – or maybe I’ve just been reading too many ‘Alice In Wonderland’ themed press releases lately. Also, look! Stripes on the insole! That does it for me…

If it does it for you, too, these are £195 at Yoox, with a range of sizes still available.

Red canvas ballerina pumps from Accessorize

red flats accessorize Red canvas ballerina pumps from AccessorizeWhen it comes to packing for summer holidays, I always try to do the whole “capsule wardrobe” thing. I always fail miserably at this, and end up having to wear all my clothes on the way home because I’ve packed so much – and bought so much – that I’m waaaay over my luggage, but at least the thought is there.

Because of my well-documented love of the nautical look, my chosen colours for this so-called “capsule” wardrobe of mine are always red, blue and white. (And, er, green. Also: black.) Which is why these Accessorize shoes went onto my summer wish list as soon as I laid eyes on them. Not only will they fit in perfectly with the rest of the wardrobe, they’re also as light as only a pair of canvas flats can be, AND they’re only £20.

Now I just need to find room for all of the 20 million other items I want to try and fit into my suitcase…

Button mid shoes from Next in red and black patent

I’ve tried to resist commenting that these shoes are “as cute as a button”, but it looks like I can’t manage it. Forgive me.

It IS true, though. Over-used as it may be, I think the word “cute” is very fitting here: the patent uppers and white piping give these a sassy feel, and, me being me, I really appreciate the dots and stripes on the insole, even although no one would actually see it when the shoes were on. It’s a shame Next didn’t provide a larger image of the red version of these on their website, because those are the ones I’d go for, but I’m sure you get the idea even from this tiny glimpse of them!

These are just £26: get them here.

Miu Miu red suede slingback shoes

red suede slingbacks miu mi Miu Miu red suede slingback shoesSometimes (although not ALL the time) the simplest styles really are the best, and I think that’s proved by these red suede Miu Miu slingbacks. On paper, these wouldn’t sound like anything much to write home about, but in person (or in photographs, at least) they have so much impact, and that’s at least partly down to that vivid red colour of the uppers.

These have heels which are just a touch under 5″, although the platform sole should make them feel a little shorter. As for the price, well, as you would probably expect from Miu Miu, they’re not cheap, coming in at $575. Get them here.

See by Chloe red nautical denim rope wedges

red chloe wedges See by Chloe red nautical denim rope wedgesLast summer, I bought a pair of red canvas wedges from Matalan – in fact, I wrote about them here. They cost me £12, and it was one of the best £12′s I spent last year, because those shoes were hardly off my feet all summer. I wore them so much that by the time I dragged them out for my holiday to the Canary Islands in December, they were already starting to look the worse for wear. I took them with me anyway, and, once again, they rarely left my feet, which means that THIS summer I find myself badly in need of a replacement.

These Chloe wedges aren’t going to be that replacement. Because if I had £166 to spend on canvas wedges, I’d probably be reclining on a chaise somewhere right now and having my servant dictate this post. I do like them, though (although not as much as my Matalan versions, it must be said. Go figure.), and if, like me, you’re a fan of the nautical look, you’d probably find that these would get a lot of wear, once the warmer weather comes along.

I, meanwhile, am just REALLY hoping Matalan do another version of their wedges this year…

New Shoes! Red platform shoe boots from Dorothy Perkins

red shoe boots New Shoes! Red platform shoe boots from Dorothy PerkinsMy fourth and final pair of new shoes this week (and, I would hope, for the foreseeable future, because God knows, if I keep on buying shoes faster than I can actually wear the things, my Shoe Challenge will be one gigantic FAIL.) are these red Dorothy Perkins shoe boots, which I got in the sale for just £20.

(I did try to take a picture of the actual shoes, but the perpetual lack of daylight here at this time of the year makes it really hard to get the colours to come out right, and luckily there was still a photo of them on the Dorothy Perkins website.)

So, these become pair of shoes # 75 in my collection, and thus ends The Week of Four New Pairs of Shoes. I wonder what pair # 76 will be?
