Purple flower ‘Audrey’ t-bar shoes by Restricted

purple flower tbars Purple flower ‘Audrey’ t bar shoes by Restricted

I know flowers on shoes aren’t to everyone’s taste, but if you do happen to like them, I am the bearer of good news, because these purple t-bars by Restricted are down to just $44.50 in the Piperlime sale – and, unusually for sale shoes, there’s still a lot of sizes left. Of course, this could be a sign that everyone hates them, but I like the purple/pink mix of the uppers and think they could be a handy addition to the ol’ shoe closet, although I must admit, for once in a way I actually think I’d prefer these without the flower. Wonders
will never cease.

Bandolino ‘Davanna’ low suede wedge shoes in purple

brabdolino wedge shoes Bandolino ‘Davanna’ low suede wedge shoes in purple

Low wedge heels make for some of the most comfortable shoes around. More supportive than a flat, and less painful than a high heel, they’re a good halfway house between the two, and these ones by Bandolino have the advantage of being pretty, too. The colours help here – as well as this purple, they’re also available in a shocking pink, as well as in black leather or suede, and the flower at the front adds a nice, feminine touch. Unusually for an evening shoe, these also have a closed-toe, so they’ll be good for colder evenings, too.

Blowfish purple flower pumps from Oli

blowfish flower flats Blowfish purple flower pumps from Oli

Flower-fronted flats: they’re a bit of a cliche, but even so, they’re the kind of shoes you can’t really go wrong with. These ones are by Blowfish, and come with, not one, but three little flowers on the front. Cute and comfortable-looking, they’re £35, and you can buy them at Oli.

Marc Jacobs purple suede thigh high boots

marc jacobs thigh highs Marc Jacobs purple suede thigh high boots

Well, it looks like Marc Jacobs is determined to add the strange, turned-up toe to EVERYTHING this season.

Why, Marc? Why? Why must you lace your regular moments of genius with a large dollop of “ridiculous”. You see, I’d love these boost if it wasn’t for that toe. I love the colour. I love the fact that they’re suede, which always seems like a more wearable option than leather when it comes to thigh highs. I love the height, and the fact that they have a wide, Puss-in-Boots style top, rather than one that hugs the leg. And actually, I don’t really hate the toes – or not as much as I did when I first laid eyes on them, anyway. But the thing is, if I owned these, I just know that every time I looked at them I’d think, “If only they didn’t have those turned-up toes on them”, and if I was paying £1,260 for a pair of boots, they’d have to be pretty damn perfect.

Kate Spade’s purple satin ‘Gracious’ sandals with bow

kate spade gracious sandals Kate Spades purple satin Gracious sandals with bow

I’ve been really loving Kate Spade’s work this season, and this has surprised me a little, because this is a brand I’ve never really paid a lot of attention to in the past. These ‘Gracious’ sandals are just one of the styles to catch my eye over the past few months though, and, as you can see, they’re ‘Gracious’ by name and gracious by nature. The off-centre bow gives them a bit of a cheeky look, while the rest of the design remains elegant and classic. I think the colour mix in these is really lovely, and the perfect way to give a little black dress a hint of colour.

High heeled velour court shoes from Matalan

matalan court shoes High heeled velour court shoes from MatalanI tried these shoes on when I was in Matalan buying my red ruffle shoes last month, so I can first of all reassure you that although the word “velour” may sound a little alarming, they’re actually nicer than they look/sound, and the uppers look more like suede than “velour”.

However, given that this is a mock-suede shoe that costs £12, you probably wouldn’t expect them to be the hardest wearing footwear around, and you’d probably be right.  They do LOOK good, though, and I loved the colours: in fact, the only reason I didn’t walk away with a pair was because I couldn’t decide between the three colours shown above, or the black version which is also available. (They also come in grey, but I wasn’t too taken with that.) At least being indecisive saves you money…

Suedette stud ankle boots from Dorothy Perkins

studded ankle boots Suedette stud ankle boots from Dorothy PerkinsI promise that one day I’ll stop writing about boots with studs on them. That come in a choice of purple/black/blue. Just… not today.

These ones are by Dorothy Perkins, and manage to tap into all of the aforementioned trends. Looks like there’s going to be a LOT of blue and purple around in the coming months, which is fine by me, because I love both of those colours. With that said, if you’re on a budget (and let’s face it, most of us are) it’s probably safer to go for the black, which will be a lot more versatile.

If you’re bored with black, though, one good thing about these particular boots is the price: they’re £45, which makes going for a bright colour seem a little more reasonable. Or maybe even buying more than one. Not that I’d advocate that AT ALL, you understand. Ahem.

Purple and grey suede slouch boots from Dorothy Perkins

suede slouch boots Purple and grey suede slouch boots from Dorothy PerkinsI have a bit of a “thing” for purple boots at the moment. Fi has a a fantastic pair from Next that I rather like the look of, but these ones from Dorothy Perkins have also caught my eye. The purple makes a nice change from black, but is also dark enough and neutral enough to be fairly versatile.

I also like the grey version of these, and the low-ish heel should make them easy to walk in. As ever with suede shoes/boots, I worry about taking them out in the rain (which pretty much rules out wearing them at all around here, unfortunately), but if you have similar concerns, the style is also available in brown leather.
