    Office red suede ‘Wonderland’ wedges

red wedges Office red suede Wonderland wedges

For all those of you (and by that I mean “for me”) who missed out on Carvela’s gorgeous ‘Grass’ wedges earlier this year, here’s another red wedge, this time from Office.

These are called ‘Wonderland’, and, unlike the Carvelas,  they have a large, double bow on the toe. Personally – and a little unusually for me – I preferred the sleeker shape of ‘Grass’, but these are a very cute alternative, and red shoes always take on an extra-festive feel at this time of year.

If you like these, however, I bring bad news, too, in that they’re already selling out fast. They’re £75, and you can click here to see if they’re available in your size. (Mine is gone: my money is safe for now…)

Office ‘Alignment’ cap toe platform wedges

    These shoes trouble me.

For one thing, they sort of look like a cartoon version of a cap-toed pump. Like, if you asked a little kid to draw a pair of white shoes with a black toe, this the the kind of thing he’d come up with. And if your shoes look like they belong on a cartoon character, well, there’s a good chance that YOU’LL look like the cartoon character they belong on, isn’t there? I somehow doubt that’s ANYONE’S main style aspiration. Well, OK, maybe Katy Perry’s, but celebrities don’t count.

There’s another reason why these shoes bother me, though. It’s the nose. I mean, it DOES look like a nose, doesn’t it? In fact, it looks a bit like my dog’s nose, and while that’s perfectly cute on him, I can’t say I’ve ever looked at it and thought, “You know, that would look great on a pair of wedges!”

Is it just me? Office are urging people to snap these up “before they’re all gone”, so I’m thinking maybe it is. If you want to obey them, these are also available in black, and you can click here to buy them for £95.

Green Shoe Alert: Office ‘Minted’ green suede platforms

Remember Office’s ‘Minted’ pumps, which I showed you earlier this year, and declared to be “the most perfect nude pumps on the high street right now”? (Exaggerate? Who, me?)

Well, look at what they’ve gone and done now:

office minted green suede shoes Green Shoe Alert: Office Minted green suede platforms

They’re only the most perfect pair of GREEN pumps on the high street right now, aren’t they?

And now I’m gutted, because of course, I’m going to HAVE to add them to my wish list, aren’t I? And to think about buying them, even although they’re the last things I need. (Oh, but I can think of the perfect dress to wear with this shade of green…)

Want a pair? As well as the nude and green, these are also available in black and blue, and are £70: click here to buy them for me.

Office Asymmetric Kicks double buckle platform suede shoes

As some of you may have seen me mention on Twitter recently, Office has a new website, and I love it: it’s much cleaner, and easier to navigate than the old version, which means it’s much easier to find shoes! Within a few seconds of landing on the homepage this morning, for instance, I found myself admiring these ‘Asymmetric Kicks” platforms, which come in red and green, and cost £80.

The thick platforms give these shoes a very 70s feel, which means that although I absolutely love the colours (and especially that green suede), my money is safe, because they’re just a little too chunky for me. I do like the asymmetric uppers, though, which help set these shoes aside from all of the legions of other platforms out there right now, and which look like a shoe boot from one side, and a Mary Jane from the other: an interesting effect, which I’d really like to see on a foot, so I can decide what I really think about them.

What do YOU think about them?

    Office ‘Aristocracy’ platform bow pumps

Sometimes when I’m sourcing shoes to feature here, it can bit of a slow process. I’ll look at lots of sites, and lots of shoes, and maybe see some I quite like, but nothing that really jumps out at me, which means I have to scroll on by, and keep on searching.

Other times, I come across a shoe that makes me instantly sit up straighter, smile to myself, and think, “YES. That’s GOT to appear on Shoeperwoman.”

This was one of those times.

These shoes are called ‘Aristocracy‘, and they’re £75 at Office. I’ve spoken before about red and pink, and how it’s been taking over the shoe scene this season, and the shoes in the middle of the image above are another example of that trend. They were also the first version of this shoe I came across, and the ones which made me yell out loud, and get some funny looks from Shoeperman and the dog. Once I’d taken the time to have a closer look, though I realised that the other two colourways were also worthy of inspection: while they lack the immediate impact of the red and pink, the plain black pair would be a little easier to wear (and possibly even office appropriate, if your work environment doesn’t prohibit huge heels and platforms, that is), and the black and white pairing has a more classic feel, as well as being a colour combination I never seem to get tired of.

The giant bow is the other stand-out feature of these shoes, and I like the way it drapes over the sides of the vamp. As well as being a contrasting colour, it’s also a contrasting fabric in the case of the plain black and black/white shoes, with the bow and platform being suede, while the rest of the upper is leather. The pink and red version, meanwhile, is all suede.

So, what do you think? Are they shoe aristocracy, as the name suggests? If you think so, you can click here to order a pair from Office. Which colour would you choose?

Shoe Deja Vu: Office Simple Minds Vs Chokers ‘Flora’ floral platforms

    by

office simple mids Shoe Deja Vu: Office Simple Minds Vs Chokers Flora floral platformsI loved Office’s floral print ‘Simple Minds’ pumps when they came out last summer, but I couldn’t imagine having the opportunity to actually wear them, so I resisted buying them… and then quickly regretted it when they sold out, and I decided that, why, I’d have been able to wear a pair of skyscraper, floral print heels just about ANYWHERE. I mean, where wouldn’t you be able to wear those shoes? (Don’t answer that, let me have my little dream…)

The blue ‘Simple Minds’ pumps are long gone (Office re-released them in black and red this year), but… not quite, because when I was looking at the Chokers website recently, I spotted these ‘Flora’ pumps, which bear more than a passing resemblance to them. The print is subtly different, and the shape isn’t as nice, but they do look very much like ‘Simple Minds’, no?

The price, however, is very different. These are just £32, and you can click here to buy them.

‘Martha’s Prairie’ floral canvas platforms by Office

marthas prairie platform shoes Marthas Prairie floral canvas platforms by Office

Well, Martha’s Prairie certainly seems like it’d be a lot of fun, no?

I’m picturing the prairie in question as a kind of hippie paradise, with everyone wearing flared denim, flowers in the hair, and, of course, these shoes.

Now, you know me, I’m not one to reject a shoe purely on the basis of The Chunky. These, however, I think are a little too chunky even for me, although I think that’s purely because they wouldn’t really work with my wardrobe. In other words, I would be an outcast on Martha’s Prairie. What about you, though? Would you fit right in? Click here to buy these for £72, if so.

The PPQ for Office collection has been available online for a couple of weeks now, but while there are quite a few lust-worthy pieces of footwear in the lineup, these ‘Menna’ sandals are definitely my favourites: I mean, stripes, bows, heels – what more could a shoeperhero ask for?

OK, I guess I could ask for them to be available in red or blue, too, but that would be asking a bit much, I think. If you love them just the way they are, you can click here to buy a pair from Office.
