Beautiful Bridal Shoes: Nine West ‘Playtag’ peep toes

nine west wedding shoes Beautiful Bridal Shoes: Nine West Playtag peep toesI was just about to describe these shoes as having “mid height” heels, then I took a closer look at the product description, and realised that they’re actually 4″, which isn’t even remotely “mid” height, is it? I guess I’m just so used to looking at all of those super-high platforms now that even a shoe that would formerly have seemed high, now appears almost low in comparison! When it comes to wedding shoes, however, I think that’s actually a good thing. You don’t want to go for something too “trendy” on your wedding day, because the shoes will date really quickly, and you’ll look back and wonder what on earth you were thinking.

That’s why I think these Nine West shoes are perfect: the style is classic and timeless, but thanks to that flower detail on the front, they’re not boring. The satin uppers also have a lovely, soft sheen, which makes them stand out, too.

Of course, if you’re worried about standing all day in four inch heels, fear not: it just gives you an excellent excuse to buy a second, stand-by pair for the evening!

These are £93 at Spartoo, and, as an added blessing, they’re also available in half-sizes, making it easier for you to get the perfect fit.

The shiny silver uppers on these shoes seem to mark them out as “evening wear”, but I think they’re much more versatile than that. Just imagine them with a pencil skirt or fitted suit – in fact, they’d be perfect with any kind of tailoring, with the embellishment on the toe giving them a bit of a vintage feel into the bargain.

These are also available with a black patent upper, and are $98.95 at Endless.com. Click here to buy them.

What: Nine West cork-soled platforms

Where: Working and then visiting my in-laws for dinner
With: Dorothy Perkins dress, tights and belt from who knows where!

I’ve actually worn these shoes a couple of times recently, but today was the first time I had a chance to take a photo of them! They’re by Nine West, and are clearly a “homage” (ahem!) to Christian Lououtin’s Bruges pumps. I bought them in the States a couple of years ago and wore them a lot in the first year I had them, although they’ve been out of regular rotation until now!

What are you wearing on your feet today?

Nine West ‘Eastbound’ stripe peep toe t-bars

nine west eastbound Nine West Eastbound stripe peep toe t barsWell, I DID warn you I wouldn’t be giving up my stripes anytime soon, and here’s the proof! These are Nine West’s ‘Eastbound’ pumps, and they could almost have been made with my summer wardrobe in mind: the blue/red/white mix will work perfectly with all of those nautical pieces floating around at the moment (and which dominated last summer, too), and they have a fresh, carefree look to them which I love.

I like the shape of these as well as the colour, although I’m not quite as keen on the other versions which are available, namely black leather, black studded satin and blue studded satin.

These are $89, and you can buy them at NineWest.com.

Nine West’s multicoloured panelled J-Jennica sandals

nine west colourful sandals Nine Wests multicoloured panelled J Jennica sandalsSeeing as it’s summer, which is just about the only time you can get away with wearing multicoloured items of clothing without looking like you’re about to audition for the cast of Joseph, here’s Nine West’s J-Jennica sandals, which are yellow and red and purple and blue and, er, more blue.

Ordinarily, the very thought of wearing all of those shades at the same time would give me palpitations, but I think they work here, and as long as you don’t wear a similarly multicolored outfit with them, you’ll be good. The vaguely gladiator-style shape makes them very modern, too.
