I’m hoping I’ll be able to pack my winter boots away soon, but you never can tell around here, so it’s always good to have something on hand (or on foot) in case of cold weather! I love these leather shoe boots from New Look, which come in one of my favourite neautrals – tan – and are the perfect shape to wear with both trousers and skirts/dresses, making them a nice transitional shoe for this between-the-seasons time of year. I also think £29.99 is a pretty reasonable price for a real leather upper, too.

These are also available in black, and you can click here to buy a pair.

Polka dots, stripes, bows, wedges: New Look lead Shoeperwoman into temptation…

new look canvas wedges Polka dots, stripes, bows, wedges: New Look lead Shoeperwoman into temptation...

Last week I suddenly realised it had been a long time since I last bought a pair of shoes from New Look. I think New Look must have realised that too, though, because the three styles above could almost have been made with me in mind: canvas wedges have always been one of my summer go-to’s, and these ones come complete with stripes, bows, polka dots – everything you need, in other words, to get me reaching for my wallet.

I’d happily wear either of the two shoes on the right of this image, although my preference would be for the polka dots. As for the red shoes, well, I’m not quite as convinced by those, as the upper looks a little too “grannyish” for my tastes, although I can certainly appreciate the bold colour and high wedge.

These shoes all retail for £24.99 and come in a range of colours. Click here to take a look.

Celebrity Shoes: Mylene Klass wears New Look shoes on the red carpet

It’s not often you see a celebrity wear shoes that are actually accessible to the rest of us – or not on the red carpet, anyway – so I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across this adorable photo of UK presenter Mylene Klass and her little girl, with Mylene wearing a pair of bright red platforms from none other than New Look.

Regular readers will no doubt recognise these, as they’re the red Mary Jane version of the bow platforms New Look released in several colours last year. I have them in black and pink, and I know a fair few of my readers have these in various colours too, so the good news for those of you who love this style – or just red shoes in general – is that they’ve been reduced to … wait for it… just £12.00 in the New Look sale. And they have them in black and cream, too.

I really love the way Mylene has paired these with grey tights (grey and red is one of my favourite colour combinations, and looks great here) and a polka dot dress, with the red of the shoes picked up with her red nail polish and lips.

Blue and white suede effect sandals from New Look

blue and white shoes Blue and white suede effect sandals from New LookThese shoes don’t exactly say “winter” to me: in fact, that blue and white upper is practically screaming “summer” at me, so well would it work with my typically nautical Spring/Summer wardrobe choices. There’s nothing like planning ahead, though, especially when the shoes in question have been reduced to £19.99 in the sale. For that price, you can guess that these aren’t real suede, but they have the looks to make up for it, and if, for some reason you don’t like to dress like a sailor (well, a high-heel wearing version of one, anyway) when summer rolls around, they’re also available in black and silver.

new look stripe wedges Red and blue stripe wedges from New LookNow that I know I’m going to be heading to the sun in a couple of week’s time, I’ve given myself permission to start looking at summery shoes again. (To look, though. Not to touch. My suitcase is going to be full enough without me adding any last-minute purchases to it!) That’s my excuse, anyway: I don’t know what reason New Look have for selling stripe wedges in November, but mine is not to question why, mine is simply to show you the pretty shoes, so here they are.

They’re £24.99. Click here to buy them.

Two tone leather brogues from New Look

two tone leather brogues new look Two tone leather brogues from New Look

I know I seem to be writing about high heeled brogues rather a lot right now, and ones from New Look in particular, but what can I say: there are a lot of them around, and I seem to like almost all of them. Maybe I should just buy a pair and get it out of my system?

These ones are £44.99 and come in one of my favourite colour combinations, tan and black, with a toe-cap to give them a very dapper feel. I’m starting to think this particular style of shoe could be the perfect choice for winter (or at least those parts of it when it’s still possible to walk safely in heels): if you agree, you can click here to buy yourself a pair!

Shoe Deja Vu: Christian Louboutin Vs New Look

christian louboutin new look knockoffs Shoe Deja Vu: Christian Louboutin Vs New Look

Now, I’m not saying the shoes on the right are copies of the shoes on the left. Well, I mean, I sort of am, I guess, given that I’ve placed them right next to each other to emphasize the similarities, and have titled this post “Shoe Deja Vu”. I still wouldn’t describe the New Look shoes as “copies” of the Louboutins, though – or, if they are, then they’re really bad ones, let’s face it – but when I first saw them I got that niggling feeling that they reminded me of some other shoe, and a couple of days later I remembered what it was: Christian Louboutin’s Canon 140 booties.

These both have mesh, spotted uppers, they both have little ruffles down the front, and they both have platform soles, very high heels and peep toes. Despite this, they both look very different, especially when you see them side by side, but if you wanted to recreate the ‘Canon’ look, but only pay £24.99, say, they could just work – and they’re also available in navy if you don’t like the black version.
