Oatmeal and green colourblock loafers from New Look

high heel loafers Oatmeal and green colourblock loafers from New Look

How do you get Shoeperwoman to look twice at a pair of loafers? Or, indeed, almost ANY item of clothing/footwear she wouldn’t normally even acknowledge the existence of? Why, you add a touch of mint green to it, of course: it’s as easy as that!

Although I DID look twice at these New Look loafers, and will admit to really quite liking them, it wouldn’t be quite so easy to persuade me to buy them. They may well be only £24.99, you see, but the loafer shape would still hold me back: I’ve always found shoes with a very high vamp to be quite unflattering on the foot for some reason, so as much as I WANT to love these, they’re not quite there.

They are the nicest pair of loafers I think I’ve seen, though, and have convinced me that pink/beige/mint is definitely a colour combination to investigate further. These are also available in a black and white colourway, and are available at New Look.

New Look have released this shape of shoe in a few different uppers now, but they clearly agree with me that Spring = stripes, because the latest incarnation comes with either a striped heel, or a striped vamp, depending on which colour you go for. The colours in question are black and navy: not the most exciting choices out there, but still very easy to wear (especially if, like me, you have a closet full of those two colours, plus a lot of red).

These are just £24.99, and the black version is almost sold-out online, so you may have to look for it in-store. The navy, however, is still available in a few sizes, and you can click here to see if yours is one of them.

I’ve been neglecting New Look lately, and I’m being punished for it now, because the blue version of these fabulous stripey sandals is already sold out in my size online. (And, indeed, in every other size apart from a UK5, so if that’s your size, you better act fast if you like these.) The coral/pink version, however, is still available online, and I guess you may get lucky and find the blue ones in-store. Or you may not, and it’ll all be my fault for not showing you them until now. Sorry.

I, naturally, love the nautical, trip-to-the-seaside feel of these, and the blue version instantly reminded me of the blue and white bow sandals from River Island which I showed you not so long ago (and which I pick up and stroke every time I’m in my local store.) These ones are minus the bow, but they’re also minus the price tag, coming in at just £29.99.

Click here to buy them: or just to look at them and wish they were available in your size, as the case may be.

New Look blue and gold ballet flats

new look ballet flats New Look blue and gold ballet flats

Earlier this week I was extolling the virtues of New Looks £7 ballet flats, and now here I am showing you a pair which cost a “whopping” £15.99. Which, OK, is still very affordable, isn’t it? This is why New Look tends to be my go-to for flats: I don’t wear them often enough to spend a lot of money on them, and they always have such a huge collection of colours and styles that you can splash out on two or three of them, and still not spend very much.

These particular shoes appealed to me because they’re a slightly dressier flat than most, and the blue and gold colours look particularly nice together (these also come in coral and black). These are from the Wide Fit range at New Look: I don’t think I have particularly wide feet, but I’ve bought flats from this range in the past, and haven’t had an issues with them (I find my feet spread out more in flats, and sometimes leave me between sizes in them: the four will be too small, and the five too large, so a wide-fit size four is sometimes the answer), so I wouldn’t rule them out, even if you don’t normally shop in this section. (I actually try not to rule ANYTHING out when I’m shopping: you never really know what’s going to  work!)

Want a pair? Well, then, you better click here!

Shoeper Roundup: New Look shoes January 2012

new look shoes Shoeper Roundup: New Look shoes January 2012

New Look, as I’m sure most of my regular readers have realised by now, is one of my guilty pleasures: the knowledge that I can pop in and buy a pair of shoes for £30 or less is often just too much temptation for me, and is also why I’ve been avoiding the store like the plague in the final few weeks of the Shoe Challenge.

Today, though, I took a look at the website, and have already added quite a few pairs to my “When the Shoe Challenge is over” list. My three favourites are at the top of the page: unbelievably, the green satin shoes are down to just £7 – SEVEN. POUNDS. – in the sale, so there’s virtually no chance of them still being around by the time I can buy them ( and I’m always a bit wary of cheap satin which can look, well, cheap), but if you fancy them, you’re probably not going to find a cheaper pair of shoes anywhere.

The other piece of good New Look news is that they started stocking a wider range of other shoe brands at the end of 2011. I’ve included some Kandee shoes in the selection below, but you can also buy brands like Dune, Iron Fist and others, so even if you don’t love New Look itself, it’s still worth a look. You’ll find all of the shoes pictured at the New Look website: which are your favourites?

I’ve no idea how I managed to miss these shoes when they first appeared on the New Look website, but there they were this morning, already sold out in quite a few sizes: I just had to put that out there quickly, in case any of you had your fingers poised on the mouse button, ready to buy them. Sorry. You may well still be able to find them in store, however, if yours is one of the sizes which is no longer available online.

Now, these aren’t the most sophisticated shoes out there, but they’re cute, they’re bright (or at least, the red pair is), they’re versatile, and… they’re £24.99. What more can you ask?

Platform heel suede boots from New Look

new look suede platform ankle boots Platform heel suede boots from New Look

Yes, it’s another pair of red suede boots. They seem to be popping up everywhere at the moment, without me even having to look for them, just as green suede shoes did all summer. And you know, if it wasn’t for the fear of looking like one of Santa’s elves (Red boots at Christmas time can be a tricky look to pull off!), I could very easily be tempted by these ones. They’re only £50, but they’re real suede, and I think they look a little more expensive than the price on the tag.

I also like the beige version, but as they’d be even less practical at this time of year than the red, I know which ones I’d be going for!

These are from New Look, but are only available online, and at selected stores: click here to buy them.

New Look green cone heeled peep toe shoes

green peep toe shoes New Look green cone heeled peep toe shoes

    Dear New Look,

Thank you for not releasing these shoes during the summer, when it was still warm enough for me to consider buying open-toed shoes. If you had, I would have YET ANOTHER pair of green shoes in my collection, and would be even further behind with my Shoe Challenge than I am already.

As it stands, however, I would really struggle to wear these by February 14th, so there is no way I can justify buying them, even although they ARE only £24.99. So thank you.

    Love,

    Shoeperwoman

P.S. I might just buy them anyway, though.

(These aren’t yet available on the New Look website: look out for them soon, though!)
