Versace leather platform ankle boots

versace ankle boots Versace leather platform ankle boots

These Versace ankle boots are being filed under “Shoes a Young Child Might Like”.

Actually, I think little kids would LOVE these, especially considering that the uppers look a lot like a child was allowed to colour them in. That’s my way of saying this isn’t a colour mix I’d have chosen myself (although lose the green and red and we’ll talk. Actually no, sorry, I’m kidding: we won’t.), but it IS bold and, as Net-a-Porter say, “show stopping”.

The chunky shape emphasises the “drawn by a child” look to these, but the price isn’t exactly pocket-money friendly: they’re $875 at Net-a-Porter.

Gianmarco Lorenzi multi-coloured suede sandals

multicoloured strappy sandals Gianmarco Lorenzi multi coloured suede sandals

Wow, a pair of shoes by Gianmarco Lorenzi that DON’T come equipped with a platform so large the very sight of it gives you vertigo! Instead, these sandals rely on colour to give them impact, and mix bright pink, bright blue and orange. Three colours this loud, all on the same shoe, would normally have me reaching for my sunglasses, but the narrow straps save these from being too migraine-inducing, and they’re perhaps the first Gianmarco Lorenzi shoes I can actually imagine wearing.

What I can’t imagine is paying £504, but if you can, you can get them at Far Fetch.

Gianmarco Lorenzi colourblock suede platform sandals

gianmarco lorenzi shoes Gianmarco Lorenzi colourblock suede platform sandalsBy now, we’re all more than used to Gianmarco Lorenzi’s tendency to make super-high platforms, in a style that always looks more like something you’d see in an art gallery than something you’d actually see on your feet. I still thought these shoes were worth showing you, though, because they look even MORE like a piece of art than usual.

The heel is 6.2 inches, the platform is 2.3 inches, and the colours look like they were chosen by a small child, but even so, these shoes definitely have the “wow” factor, whether you mean it in a good way, a bad way, or just a totally astonished “OMG LOOK AT THOSE SHOES!” kind of way.

Which is it for you? If you love these, you can buy them at Far Fetch, where they’re £514.

ASOS ‘Tabby’ lace-up shoe boots

asos lace up shoe boots ASOS Tabby lace up shoe boots

I’ve been hankering for a pair of shoe boots recently, and as if by magic, ASOS.com added these ones to their website yesterday. Sometimes I swear they can read my mind, and figure out just how to tempt me!

As just £35, you’d be struggling to find a more affordable shoe boot than these, and the shape is very classic. I suspect the colour of the boot on the right of the photo above will put some people off and make others fall in love with it (I’m somewhere in between the two), but the patent taupe version is very wearable. I’m drawn to patent at the moment because it tends to be pretty waterproof, and God knows, we need that at the moment!

Like them? If so, you can buy a pair here.

Giuseppe Zanotti multi-coloured stone embellished sandals

giusepe zanotti sandals Giuseppe Zanotti multi coloured stone embellished sandalsThe summer stock is slowly starting to trickle into my favourite stores at last. Normally this is cause for great rejoicing here in Shoeperland: I’m not a fan of the sales (Being a very common shoe size means that everything’s sold out in my size long before I get there, anyway, and I get bored with the lack of pretty new things to look at), and I AM a fan of all things related to summer, so this small sign that we’ve made it to a New Year, and are now headed in the direction of warmer weather is usually more than welcome!

This year, though? Not so much. We still have over a foot of snow on the ground here, which means that sandals like these ones by Giuseppe Zanotti are still a very distant dream: or at least they would be if I actually liked them. Which I don’t. Sorry, Mr Zanotti: maybe I’m just not ready for so many colours now that my eyes are used to the dull shades of winter… or maybe there are just a few too many gem stones on these yellow sandals. I suspect it’s the latter, but if you think it’s the former, and you’d really love to wear these, prepare for the bad news: they’re £1006. Gulp.

If you love them, you can buy them at Louisa Via Roma.

Nine West’s multicoloured panelled J-Jennica sandals

nine west colourful sandals Nine Wests multicoloured panelled J Jennica sandalsSeeing as it’s summer, which is just about the only time you can get away with wearing multicoloured items of clothing without looking like you’re about to audition for the cast of Joseph, here’s Nine West’s J-Jennica sandals, which are yellow and red and purple and blue and, er, more blue.

Ordinarily, the very thought of wearing all of those shades at the same time would give me palpitations, but I think they work here, and as long as you don’t wear a similarly multicolored outfit with them, you’ll be good. The vaguely gladiator-style shape makes them very modern, too.

BUY: Nine West J-Jennica sandals, £65
