Blue suede ‘Camara’ bow platforms from Moda in Pelle

blue suede camara shoes Blue suede Camara bow platforms from Moda in Pelle

The product description for these shoes tells me they’re suede: I actually think the uppers look like velvet, but I’m going to take Moda in Pelle at their word for it, and they look good regardless of what they’re made of.

I love the navy colour of these: it’s a colour we’ve seen a lot of this year (well, I certainly have, anyway: I can’t speak for the rest of you…) and it makes a nice alternative to black. Speaking of black, however, these shoes are also available in that shade too, and while I’d have loved to see these in some brighter colours, the darker versions will make them very versatile.

moda in pelle voodoo boots Moda in Pelle ‘Voodo’ over the knee boots in purple and blackI know I’m currently obsessed with purple boots, but for those of you who don’t share that obsession, Moda in Pelle have thoughtfully provided these boots in black, too, in both suede and leather.

If I was rich, I’d want all three of these, but if I could only pick one, I’d go for the purple versions, which are the ones that instantly jumped out at me from the web page. These can be worn folded down, as shown in the picture, or turned up as over-the-knee boots. They’re £149 and you can click here to buy them from Moda in Pelle.

Budget Bridal Shoes: Moda in Pelle’s ‘Imogen’ in champagne satin

bridal shoes high heels Budget Bridal Shoes: Moda in Pelles Imogen in champagne satinIt’s time to feel jealous of brides again, folks!

I absolutely love these ‘Imogen’ sandals by Moda in Pelle, which may not seem like too much of a budget pick at £85, but which are at least considerably less than the designer option many brides go for. I don’t think many people could tell the difference, either: these have lots of style, a sophisticated shape, and I really like the fact that the bow embellishment is suede, making a nice contrast with the satin uppers.

These are available at Pavers shoes.

Shoeper Shoe Challenge # 25: Sunday Lunch

leopard print shoes Shoeper Shoe Challenge # 25: Sunday Lunch

What: Moda in Pelle leopard print peep toes
    When: Sunday, May 9th, 2010
Where: Sunday lunch with the family
With: Black trousers (TK Maxx), tank (Topshop); belt (free with something); cardigan (local boutique)

The weather has taken a turn for the worse. In fact, they’re actually predicting SNOW for later this week. SNOW. And if that happens? I swear to Gaga I’m leaving the country. Well, assuming I can even get out, thanks to the Ash Cloud O’Doom grounding flights yet again. What a strange time this is for the world!

Because the chill factor is fairly high, I’m determinedly trying to work my way through my peep toe and sandal collection, but I have been forced to stick to trousers and jeans much more than I’d like. It’s just too cold for bare legs right now, and I prefer to avoid tights if I can possibly help it at this time of year, so all of my pretty summer dresses are still hanging in the wardrobe, while the trousers and jeans remain on high rotation. This makes me sad. It also makes me worried, because all of my boots are now in storage in the attic, so if it DOES snow, I’m going to have some very cold feet…

moda in pelle darla Moda in Pelle Darla peep toes in navy

It’s been a while since Moda in Pelle managed to catch my attention with one of their shoes, so I was particularly pleased to stumble across these ‘Darla’ peep toes , which help feed my current obsession with all things navy! I especially like the colour combination of the bow on the navy shoes: the brown version isn’t quite doing it for me, but they’re still very cute, and I suspect that if I came across them on the sale rack, they’d probably be coming home with me!

If you can’t wait for the sale, these are £80 at Moda in Pelle.

It’s been a while since I last looked at the Moda in Pelle website, so I decided to rectify that today, and found these cute little ‘Molli’ peep toes are now on sale.  I, of course, like them for the triple-bow on the front, but I also like the colours available – the bright pink is pretty, and will add some much-needed colour to black dresses, or even jeans, while the beige is less-exciting on its own, but will go with almost anything.

These are currently reduced to £40, and you can grab a pair here.

Shoe Deja Vu: Jimmy Choo Vs Moda in Pelle

jimmy choo moda in pelle Shoe Deja Vu: Jimmy Choo Vs Moda in Pelle

These shoes aren’t exactly the same as each other – I think Moda in Pelle probably learned their lesson back when Gina sued them for copying designs! – but, well, they’re not too different either, are they?

The Jimmy Choos on the left of the picture are the ‘Grant’ satin peep toes (£516) and are one of my favourite Choo designs from recent years – wouldn’t they make a gorgeous pair of bridal shoes? The Moda in Pelle ‘Javelin’ peep toes on the right (£85) meanwhile, have the same satin uppers and jeweled sides, but there’s no denying that they look cheaper than the originals (which, of  course, is only to be expected, because they ARE cheaper!). They’re also available in black, from ModainPelle.com.

Moda in Pelle’s multicoloured ‘Loui’ t-bar sandals

loui mu s Moda in Pelles multicoloured Loui t bar sandalsIt’s been a while since I found something I really liked at Moda in Pelle, so I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon these ‘Loui’ sandals this afternoon.

Available in either bright “wine” colours (left) or more muted “ocean” colours, I like both of these, and think they’d be great for Autumn: you can up the colour quotient even more by adding a pair of contrasting tights for a very modern kind of look. Not the cheapest brand on the high street, these are £90 and available from the Moda in Pelle website.
