For me, these shoes fall firmly into the “look but don’t touch” category: I can’t seem to stop looking at them spin round (and round and round) on the Saks website, but I don’t really want them anywhere near my feet, because they’re giving off an “Austin Powers” vibe that’s just too strong for my liking. Oh, and the £600 price tag is a bit strong for my liking too.

These definitely aren’t your average Mary Janes, though, and if you think you can make them work, they could make a really interesting addition to the ol’ shoe closet. I’d be tempted to carry on the 60s theme, and wear them with a little white mini dress: what would you wear with them?

These aren’t nearly as hot as the mirrored Thakoon sandals I showed you last year, which will forever more be the standard by which ALL mirrored sandals shall be judged from now on, as far as I’m concerned.

That said, they’re still all kinds of awesome, in a “look, but don’t touch” kinda way. I can’t afford to touch them because they’re £610, but even if I could, well, sadly there aren’t too many occasions in my life right now that call for something like these. If you drift from one fabulous event to another, however, these could be just the thing. You can buy them at Net-a-Porter, if so.

A lot of the time, when  a pair of shoes winds up on The Outnet, I’m amazed to see it there. Sometimes, though, as in the case of these Phi peep toes, I find myself thinking, “Well, OK, I can see how that one made it to the sale rack…” These aren’t at all mainstream, and I can understand why a lot of people wouldn’t find them appealing, but I find them wonderful to look at: they definitely qualify as “shoe art”, but do they qualify as something you’d want to put on your feet? If you think so, they’re down to £237 (from £790, so quite a saving if they’re your kinda thing!) at The Outnet.

I think these are the perfect shoes to end the week on, don’t you? Perfect for a big Friday night out, but also perfect – in MY world, anyway – for wearing with pyjamas while you slob out in front of the TV. That’s what I’m telling myself, anyway. And maybe if I KEEP telling myself that, I’ll find a way to justify the £875 price tag on these? Or, OK, maybe not. They are beautiful to look at, though, and the kind of thing I’d want to keep out on display at all times. Added bonus: the mirrors will be handy for checking your lipstick in, so, you know, they’re PRACTICAL too, really. And now I really am reaching for ways to justify these: if you just want to get on with the business of buying them, however, head on over to Net-a-Porter
