Miss L Fire Renaissance heart courts

miss l fire heart shoes Miss L Fire Renaissance heart courtsI know I spent most of the summer obsessing over shoes with hearts on them, but these ones just aren’t doing it for me – or not at first glance, anyway. I kind of feel that they’d look better with a low wedge heel rather than this particular shape, but then again, the more I look at them, the more I think they could just work with the right outfit, and they’re definitely the type of shoes that make you look twice, particularly in this colour. And now I feel like I’ve talked myself around. Hmmm. What do you think?

Ruffle t-bar mid heels from Dorothy Perkins

mid height heels Ruffle t bar mid heels from Dorothy PerkinsAh, the problematic mid-height heel – so problematic, apparently, that as soon as a non-frumpy pair appears, they sell-out almost immediately!

That certainly seemed to be the case with the pink versions of these ruffle t-bars from Dorothy Perkins, anyway. They appeared on the site yesterday morning, but by the time I came to write this post, they were sold-out in all sizes. (You should still be able to grab a pair in-store, though, if you’ve set your heart on them). I can see why, too: although not a huge fan of the mid-height heel, this is actually a style I could see myself wearing, although I’d probably go for boring old black rather than the slightly-too-pink-for-my-tastes bubblegum versions.

I really like the shape of these, and the ruffle is a nice – and, of course, very fashionable – touch. The price isn’t bad either: these are just £28.

Carvela ‘Amos’ patent Mary Janes with mid-height heel

carvela amos mary janes Carvela Amos patent Mary Janes with mid height heelOne of the few pairs of mid-height heels to grab my attention recently, these ‘Amos’ Mary Janes by Carvela manage to be cute and smart at the same time, with the gold accents on the heels and button giving them an extra dollop of style. The slightly asymmetrical strap on these is also in their favour, adding another point of interest: the words “mid height Mary Janes” wouldn’t normally inspire much hope in my heart, but I really like these, and think they’d made a great work/dress shoe for anyone who prefers their heels that little bit lower.

It’s Shoeperwoman to the rescue once more, folks, this time with a question from Karina, whose blog, Anywhere But Here, is a must-read for anyone interested in fashion!

Karina writes:

My feet won’t let me physically wear heels over 3 inches, and under 3 is preferred. I can wear wedges though so as long as the slope isn’t over 3 inches (for example a five inch heel with a two inch platform is something I can wear). However, I can never find any really pretty, amazing, cool, unique or sexy shoes at the mid-heel height. Everything I lust over ends up being over 3 inches and never to be mine. Do you have any finds or suggestions for a sexy and interesting mid-heel shoe (it can be a wedge, espadrille, pump, sandal, mary-jane – and I like strappy shoes most of all).

Thanks!!!
