Marks & Spencer Limited Collection double cross strap platform shoes

These shoes look much better in the image above than they do in the product shot on the Marks & Spencer website, which makes me think they’d really have to be seen in person before I’d be able to make a decision on them.

So far, though, the signs are good, and I’m not saying that just because the blue/red/cream combination makes me want to use a certain word that begins with “n” and ends in “autical”. I also like the elastic straps on these, which should make them fairly comfortable, while the high heel and cork platform mean that people probably won’t believe you when you tell them they were £29.50 from M&S.

Also available with a metallic upper, you can buy yourself a pair here.

Marks & Spencer Limited Collection Cork Platform Shoes

cork soled striped shoes Marks & Spencer Limited Collection Cork Platform ShoesIf I’d spotted these shoes just a little bit sooner, there’s a very good chance they’d have been coming to Florida with me next week, because they’re basically the perfect summer holiday shoe, as far as I can see. It’s probably a good thing I didn’t spot them, mind you: I’d have had a hard time choosing between the red and blue, you see, and although they’re affordably priced at £29.50, I think two new pairs of shoes would’ve been a bit much, even for me.

I can’t have them, then, but you still can, and if you’re looking for the footwear equivalent of a day at the seaside, complete with ice cream, boat trips and maybe even a bit of sunshine if you’re lucky, head over to Marks & Spencer and snap these up.

Here’s yet another piece of evidence that I REALLY need to pay more attention to the shoe section at Marks & Spencer: they somehow managed to sneak these cute-as-pie little shoes in under my radar without triggering the “polka dot peep toes” alarm that goes off here at Shoeper Towers every time something that looks even remotely like this comes into stock somewhere. I must be losing my touch.

Anyway, these are a bargain at £29.50, are the perfect, fun accessory for many a summer outfit, and could possibly even make the Ruby Shoesday cut, too. My mouse has been hovering over the “Buy” button ever since I saw them…

P.S. They also come in black and white. And half-sizes. And while I’m not really one to advocate the “matchy-matchy” approach to shoes and handbags:

Marks & Spencer is one of those stores I tend to neglect when I’m searching for footwear, but their latest TV ads, featuring Danni Minogue, plus a range of nautical-themed clothing, prompted me to take a look, and I’m very glad I did! These shoes actually don’t fit in with the beachy vibe of the adverts, but I love the two-tone uppers, while the cork platform, topped with black patent, reminds me of Christian Louboutin’s Bruges pumps. The red heel is the perfect finishing touch on these, and the price is a nice touch, too: they’re just £29.50.
