Celebrity Shoes: Zoe Saldana in Brian Atwood’s leopard python ‘Fiona’ pumps

Hot on Elle Macpherson’s spiked heels, here’s another celebrity wearing skinny jeans and super-high stilettos: suddenly jeans are starting to look a whole lot more appealing to me again. (She says, as if she hasn’t been wearing jeans almost constantly for the past couple of weeks, because she’s so sick to death of winter clothing…)

This is Zoe Saldana, seen here wearing a pair of Brian Atwood’s ‘Fiona’ pumps - in this case, the leopard/python version:

leopard print bow shoes Shoe Kryptonite: Anastasia Bice leopard print shoes with blue bowOK, I’ve been thinking about this, and if I can just get two hundred and sixty four of you to each send me £1, I can buy these shoes. You’re all OK with that, aren’t you? I promise I’ll look after them. And I’ll wear them every single day, other than the days I’m doing a Shoe Challenge, and on those days I’ll put them out on display, so I can admire them even although I’m not wearing them.

Do we have a deal? No? Would this convince you?

Yes, I know I already have more than my share of leopard print shoes. But these… these are the QUEEN of leopard print shoes, and if you already happen to have that spare £264 to spend, you can click here to buy them. Lucky you.

Super high wedge sandals from River Island

high wedge sandals Super high wedge sandals from River IslandWell, you can’t say I didn’t warn you about the upcoming River Island obsession around these here parts: their Spring/Summer 2011 collection is one of my favourites so far, and while I probably wouldn’t buy these shoes myself, for fear of not having anything to wear with them, I do love looking at them.

These sandals are very “fashiony”, as you can see from the extreme wedge heel and loud uppers. They’re certainly not going to appeal to everyone, but if you like your shoes to be fun, different and a little bit wild, they could just be for you. They’re £69.99: click here to buy them.

Leopard print platform shoes from Miss Selfridge

leopard print platform shoes Leopard print platform shoes from Miss Selfridge

I already have three different pairs of leopard print shoes, so the last thing I need is another pair. That’s never stopped me before, however, and I couldn’t help but be drawn to these Miss Selfridge platforms, not least because the basic shape of the shoe is so similar to the various bow-fronted platforms Miss S released last year (without the bow, of course), and which I was such a big fan of. I absolutely love the shape of these, and am really hoping that the use of this chunky-heeled platform again is an indication that we can expect more shoes in this style from the brand this year. (Maybe even a re-issue of the red ones I’ve been searching for since last summer? Pretty please?)

These would also be a good choice for those of you who’d like to add a bit of animal print to your shoe collection, but who are wary about what I think of as the “Bett Lynch” factor. The chunky, modern shape helps offset some of the traditional associations of leopard print stilettos, say, and will also look a little more up-to-date.

Moda in Pelle leopard print ‘Cariah’ peep toes

moda in pelle leopard print cariah peep toes Moda in Pelle leopard print Cariah peep toesAs regular readers know, I’m partial to a bit of leopard print on shoes, and I’ve had my eye on these Moda in Pelle ‘Cariah’ peep toes for a while now.  As well as the print, these also have a fabulous red heel and platform, plus a cute little curled detail at the toe, which helps them stand out from the many other pairs of animal print peep toes out there (some of which may even be residing in my closet as we speak).

These are £99 and I’d wear them with a pair of jeans, or a black pencil skirt, with bright red toenails to finish off the look: click here to buy a pair.

Leopard print wedge shoes from Dorothy Perkins

I have leopard print heels, flats and peep toes, but I don’t (yet) own a pair of leopard print wedges, so needless to say, these ones from Dorothy Perkins instantly caught my attention. The distinctive print sits atop a black wedge heel, which will provide an easier-to-walk-on alternative to the many pairs of stilettos available in this print right now (and most of the rest of the year too, to be honest).

If you’re not keen on animal print, though, and I know many of you aren’t, these are also available in black and wine, for just £34. Click here to buy them.

Schuh ‘Prince Bow’ leopard print platform shoes

leopard prince bow shoes Schuh Prince Bow leopard print platform shoes

This is Prince Bow. He’s a little bit feminine looking for a Prince, but don’t tell him that, because I bet he could do some serious damage with that stiletto.

The stiletto in question is over 5″ high, and is accompanies by a 1.3″ platform. The leopard print upper and little bow on the front are the things everyone’s going to be looking at here, though: these shoes may not have been made for walking, exactly, but they were made for being looked at, which you may consider to be almost as good.

Leopard print is the marmite of shoes, in that most people seem to either love it or hate it. If you’re in the former group, you can click here to order them from Schuh.

Dune classic ‘Susanna’ court shoes in silver and leopard print

    by
    3

dune susannah court shoes Dune classic Susanna court shoes in silver and leopard printDune seem to release a pair of shoes in this kind of classic, point-toed style every season, and they get no complaints from me (In fact, last year I bought their Olsen pumps in this style). This year, the style name is ‘Susanna’, and it comes in either a shimmery silver or a slightly louder leopard print. Both of these uppers are close to being “neutrals” as far as I’m concerned: the metallic will work with everything, and the leopard print will be an easy way to style up a plain dress or pair of trousers, so they’re both the kind of shoes that will remain in your life for a long time to come, assuming that you look after them.

Like them? They’re £80 and you can click here to buy a pair.
