lady dragon cherry shoes Shudoo to the Rescue! Vivienne Westwood/Melissa Lady Dragon Cherries shoes

Last week, the lovely people at Shudoo got in touch and, in the manner of a fabulous, Shoe-Fairy Godmother, offered to donate a pair of shoes from their website to my Shoe Challenge.

Naturally, I thought about this for all of 0.34 seconds before gratefully accepting, then it took me another 0.05 seconds to choose the Lady Dragon Cherries shoes I wrote about last week (and which I’ve been dreaming about ever since).

The shoes arrived yesterday, and are everything I’d hoped for and more. The cherries are just so cute and whimsical, and actually, the plastic uppers are possibly the most practical choice of footwear around for me right now, considering the Biblical-style rain we’re continuing to get here. I’m even starting to love that bubblegum scent…

Some more images under the jump: a huge thank you to Shudoo for coming to the rescue with these amazing shoes!

vivienne westwood lady dragon cherries1 Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Lady Dragon Cherries shoesEver since I bought my Lady Dragon shoes (so for about a week, then) I’ve been a complete convert to the Melissa line – or at least to that part of it designed by Vivienne Westwood’s Anglomania label. Trust me, this is as much of a surprise to me as it probably is to you. I mean, plastic shoes! That smell like bubblegum! The HELL?

Even so, I love them. Enough to have found myself, late last week, trawling the Internet looking for a pale blue pair, even although I totally can’t afford them. The blue version with the red hearts is sold out everywhere. I did however, find these ‘Cherries’ shoes, and while this design is not new, looking at them through the eyes of a new rubber-shoe convert, I was smitten. A shoe with a cherry on top: so cute!

If you agree, you’ll find these at Shudoo, where they’re £110.

    I know, I know…

When I ordered the peach version of these shoes almost a year ago, I sent them back because  didn’t like the colour and I didn’t like the fit. I knew it was the right decision, but at the same time, I never really got those Lady Dragons out of my head. Every time I spotted someone wearing them (on the Internet, natch: my town isn’t really a plastic, heart-shaped-shoe kinda place), or saw them for sale, I’d feel a little pang of regret that they weren’t mine, so when I found them in Saks on the second-last day of my vacation, on sale, in a size that fit me perfectly (a European size 36, as it turns out, which is a full size smaller than I’d usually wear, but these do seem to come up large), and in a gold and red combo that I liked much better than the ill-fated peach shoes… well, it would’ve been rude not to just buy them, wouldn’t it?

OK, so maybe not. But I’d definitely have regretted it, because I put them on as soon as they were legally mine, and discovered that my life has been incomplete without a pair of gold plastic shoes with gigantic hearts on the front. I mean, WHO KNEW? I’ve worn them once already, but didn’t get any photos, so I’ll try to get them out again soon for a Shoe Challenge. Speaking of which, I have a camera full of photos to post at some point this week (turned out I was much too lazy to do any more blogging while I was gone), but I just got back this morning and haven’t slept since Friday (and as well as the shoes, I also brought a heavy cold home with me), so I’m going to go and do that now, and let the Shoe Challenges wait until another day – not least because I can hardly bear to look at the photos without wanting to burst into tears at the thought of being home. Also: cold remedy. Must take some cold remedy….

(These shoes, by the way, only bring my total to 76 pairs, because I had a bit of a clear-out before my vacation. Yes, I’m a filthy rotten shoe-challenge cheat!)

Celebrity Shoes: Leona Lewis in Vivienne Westwood’s Lady Dragon shoes

LFI USPARTY 0021 Celebrity Shoes: Leona Lewis in Vivienne Westwoods Lady Dragon shoes

Leona Lewis’s style has been a bit hit and miss lately. I can’t say I’m all that sold on this outfit, which she wore to US Weekly’s Hot Hollywood party, either, but one thing I CAN say for sure is tat I love her shoes! They’re Vivienne Westwood/Melissa’s Lady Dragon shoes in purple, and I know most of you seemed to hate them when I showed you them a couple of weeks ago, but I’ll still happily admit to being a fan, and even although I sent back the peach pair I ordered in the summer, every time I see someone wearing one of the other colours, I find myself wishing I had a pair.

Sadly for me, it’s not to be, but what do you think of them with Leona’s outfit?

vivienne westwood lady drag Vivienne Westwoods Lady Dragon shoes available in four different coloursSorry for the lack of posts this week, everyone: after the server crash on what’s become known around here as Black Friday, followed by Terry and I being stranded on the motorway the following Sunday, things have been pretty hairy, and I just haven’t been able to get back into a proper posting schedule yet.  Things are slowly getting back to normal, though, and I hope to be totally back to normal by next week. In the meantime, here, have a picture of the four new colours of Vivienne Westwood’s Lady Dragon shoes for Melissa. I want them all. If you do, too, they’re available at Epaulet, for $149 each.

Shoe Kryptonite: Vivienne Westwood Anglomania/Melissa ‘Lady Dragon’ shoes: they’re back!

melissa lady dragon Shoe Kryptonite: Vivienne Westwood Anglomania/Melissa Lady Dragon shoes: theyre back! These are the shoes that are currently sitting right at the very top of my “I want” list. They’re the famous Lady Dragon shoes from the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania/Melissa collaboration, and although I had my heart set on the nude/black combo, I wouldn’t say no to these ones, either, IF THEY WERE IN MY SIZE. Which they’re not. They’re also around £20 more expensive than they were when they were originally released last year, which is just the latest in a long saga concerning me and these shoes.

These, you see, are The Ones That Got Away. I managed to resist buying them when they were first released, telling myself that they were plastic, and what would I do with a pair of plastic shoes, really? But then time went by, and I thought, what WOULDN’T I do? And who knew plastic could be so. damn. pretty?

Anyway, I resisted, and then, of course, they sold out. Then they started appearing on eBay for £200 each. Which was around about the time I developed the Shoeperwoman Motto, which is:

“When you see shoes you love, in your size: BUY THEM. No, seriously: BUY THEM.”

Feel free to borrow this motto any time you like. You’re welcome.

The point of this post, however, wasn’t to whine about my lack of Lady Dragon shoes. (Well, it kind of was, but, you know.) No, the point was to inform you that they’re now back in stock at Coggles, although only in the blue/red shown above, and only in sizes 7 and 8 (UK). Naturally, I’m a size 4.

You know how it goes, though, folks: if the shoe fits, buy it – you can get them here.
