Karen Millen lace peep toes with bow

karen millen lace peep toes Karen Millen lace peep toes with bowI think these are definitely one of the best examples of lace on shoes I’ve seen lately, and given that we’re entering into a season which seems to contain a whole lot of lace-effect shoes, that’s saying something.

Of course, it’s mostly the bow that sets these apart from the rest. Without it, they’d still be pretty, but they probably wouldn’t have made me stop and look at every available photo of them, as I did earlier today. Here’s my favourite:

Wouldn’t you just love to look down and see those? If you would, just click here - they’re £120.

Yellow and pink tassel sandals from Karen Millen

karen millen tassel sandals Yellow and pink tassel sandals from Karen Millen Tassels tend to fall into that category of Things People Either Love or Hate, With No In-Between, although, having said that, I’m now going to instantly contradict myself by saying that while I used to be firmly in the “Hate” camp, I’ve recently discovered an appreciation for our fringed friends that leaves me firmly on the fence.

Where do you stand on these Karen Millen sandals? The bright colours make these hard to ignore even without the embellishment, and the yellow colour in particular is a little on the blinding side. I really like the shape of these, though, and the contrast of the patent heel against the wooden platform is a nice touch, too.

    What do you think?

Heroes or Villains? Karen Millen’s extravagant frill court shoes

karen millen frill shoes Heroes or Villains? Karen Millens extravagant frill court shoes

My first thought upon seeing these Karen Millen court shoes was that they were a couple of little punks, what with all that mohawk action going on at the back there. And of course, they’re not even remotely punk-like (they’re white stiletto court shoes, after all), but that’s really all I can think of now when I see them. It’s as if they have FACES.  Moving on…

The “extravagant ruffle” that gives these their name is just TOO extravagant for me, and I find myself wishing they’d head to the hairdresser and get themselves a buzz cut. Aaaand, there I go thinking of them as people again. Must. Stop. That.

What do you think of these, readers? Heroes or Villains? Or… punks?

pink karen millen sandals Pink satin sandals with jewelled heels from Karen MillenI’m showing you the back of these shoes first, because as you can see, the back’s most definitely where the action is.

Oh, and the front isn’t bad, either:

I don’t know what it is about pink shoes right now, but I can’t seem to get enough of them, and these are as fun and frivolous as it gets. If you agree, you can buy yourself a pair for £150 at Karen Millen.

A whole selection of new shoes flooded onto the Karen Millen website this week, and among them were these satin bow sandals, which come in my three favourite shoe shades: red, green and black. These also have a bow on the side of each shoe, although at first glance it may not look like one, as it’s a rather stylised kind of bow, with a very angular look to it. It still helps add a dash of femininity to these shoes, though, not that they need it: the high heels and rich colours would probably have been more than enough on their own.

These are £120 each, and you can buy them at Karen Millen.

Soft frills satin peep toe shoes by Karen Millen

karen millen peep toes1 Soft frills satin peep toe shoes by Karen MillenMost of the interest of these shoes lies in the greatly be-ruffled heels. From the front, they look just like a rather ordinary pair of satin peep toes, but from the back it’s all change, making them something of a “mullet” style – business in front, party at the back.

I’m not totally sure how I feel about them. The ruffles look a little bit like a baby’s bonnet to me, so I can’t quite shake the feeling that the shoes are wearing some kind of hat. That aside, though, I do love the metal strip down the back of the stiletto! They’re £120 at Karen Millen.

I know these shoes will undoubtedly be too fussy for many of you, but I still gave a happy sigh when I found them, because they’re just so damn pretty. In a pale pink metallic upper, they look like the shoe fairy has come along and sprinkled them with flowers. Very feminine and just a touch whimsical, they’re £135 and already sold out in a lot of sizes, so you may have to check for them in store, or wait for them to make an appearance at somewhere like ASOS.com, which also sells Karen Millen.

If you want to check for your size first (mine is sold out – probably a good thing) and see some other views, you can do so at Karen Millen.

Karen Millen’s shoe collection is always worth a look, particularly if you’re looking for a dress shoe for some special occasion or other. I found these red satin court shoes tucked away among the current stock, and thought the shape had a bit of a “designer” feel to it, although I’m struggling to remember which designer shoe these remind me of. Anyone?

They’re £135, which makes them at least a little cheaper than most designer shoes: I’m not 100% sure whether I like them or not, but if you do, you can buy them here.
