Le Silla jewelled platform peep toes

I seem to be having a bit of a “jewelled shoes” theme going on here today. I didn’t plan it that way, but when I stumbled across these amazing Le Silla sandals over at Far Fetch, I just had to show you them.

With an almost 6″ heel, these definitely aren’t the most practical shoes around, and they’re not the cheapest either, coming in at £2,159. They ARE among the sparkliest, though, and if that’s all that matters to you, you may well feel they’re worth every penny. Personally, although these are strikingly tall, I’d have liked them even better if the platform was significantly smaller than is at the moment – or even if they’d just skipped it altogether.  As I don’t happen to have a spare couple of thousand lying around just begging to be spent on shoes, though, it’s a bit of a moot point for me…

Marc Jacobs jewelled wedge sandals

I’ve been so desperate for some new stock to arrive at my favourite shoe stores (I absolutely hate this time of year, when all that’s available is the last dregs of the sale stock!) that I’m willing to overlook the fact that most of said new arrivals are far too summery/dressy to fit my current lifestyle, which involves being snow-bound for days on end. (I haven’t left the house now since January 2nd. Whoops.)

These Marc Jacobs sandals are new in at Net-a-Porter, and instantly caught my eye with their metallic uppers and jewelled fronts. Marc Jacobs can be very hit or miss, I find, but I think these are a definite hit – or at least, they would be if they weren’t £460!

Miu Miu metallic jewelled ballet flats

There are few shoe brands out there who do ballet flats quite as well as Miu Miu. They give their flats the same luxurious, over-the-top feel they so frequently give their heels, and I think they deserve a pat on the back for it, because let’s face it, flats can so often fall into that “practical but dull” category, can’t they?

These ones come in a pink metallic upper, with a heavily jewelled toe, and are the perfect evening shoes for anyone who doesn’t want to wear heels. If I could afford to, I’d buy them just to wear around the house, but at £319, I don’t think that would be my most sensible move ever. If you have better plans for them, you can pick up a pair at My Theresa.
