Iron Fist ‘Gold Star’ black skull print pumps

iron first skull print Iron Fist Gold Star black skull print pumps I know I have some big Iron Fist fans among my readers, so I thought those of you who love the brand, and their gothic-style prints might like these black skull print pumps. And hey, it IS the month of Halloween, after all, and I guess if you don’t want to get dressed up for it, these would be an easy way to give a nod to “scary” style AND get to buy some new shoes into the bargain!

As for me, skull print isn’t generally my thing (I make an exception for Alexander McQueen, but that’s about it), but I do love the way Iron Fist manage to make their skulls almost “pretty” by a clever use of studs. At first glance, it would be fairly easy to think this was just a random pattern, and I quite like the idea of the print only really revealing itself to those who take a closer look!

Quite apart from all of that, these make for an interesting twist on the classic black pumps, which are always a handy addition to the shoe shelves! These shoes are £79 at Spartoo: click here to buy them.

Iron First ‘Lacey Days’ ankle strap platform shoes

iron first lacey days ankle strap Iron First Lacey Days ankle strap platform shoesI mentioned a few weeks ago that, despite their popularity, Iron Fist has never been one of my favourite shoe brands. Something about these ‘Lacey Days’ shoes, however, has drawn me in, and I’ve found myself looking at them every time I’m on the Spartoo website, so I’m taking it as a sign that I need to show you them.

At first glance, these appear to be a standard, rather girlie kind of style, with the high heel, bow embellishement, pink charm and lace upper. Take a closer look, however, and you start to notice some characteristic “Iron Fist” touches. That cute little pink charm, for example, is actually a skull:

I think it’s actually the striped ribbon that attracts me to these, though. I’ve always been a sucker for stripes, and while it does jar slightly with the rest of the design here, I still like the way the print has been used on the bow.

What do you think of these shoes?

There’s no place like home! There’s no place like home!

Well, you certainly won’t be in Kansas any more when you wear th… You’re already tired of the Wizard of Oz references, aren’t you? Sorry. I’ll stop now. And actually, it always seems really lazy to refer to any and all red sparkly shoes as “Dorothy Shoes” but I’m probably going to keep on doing it, because it just seems so appropriate. Don’t say you haven’t been warned.

As if the red sequined uppers (complete with bow) weren’t quite kitsch enough, Iron Fist have gone ahead and added a black and white striped heel to these shoes. They’re all about the drama, and are the kind of shoes you’re only going to want to slip into when you’re happy to be the centre of attention. Or when you’re lounging around the house in your pyjamas: your choice.

Eeek! Iron Fist Killer Cupcakes bow shoes

Oh my. I’m sure some people will absolutely adore these shoes (in fact, I KNOW some people do, because Office are already down to the “last remaining pairs”. Unless, of course, they only ever ordered in a couple of pairs of these. Hmmm.) but my jaw actually dropped when I looked at them, and I say this as someone who generally likes bows. The overly cutesy pink-bow-and-cartoon-cupcake mix has a “designed by a child” look about it for me, though – in fact, it looks a bit like what might happen if you left your shoes alone with your kid and a box of sharpies.

I feel I should say something nice about these now that I’ve been so Not Nice about them. Anyone care to help me out with that?
