Pewter bow t-bar shoes from Oasis

pewter bow t bar shoes Pewter bow t bar shoes from Oasis

If there’s one thing I love almost as much as a shoe with a bow on the toe, it’s a t-bar shoe… with a bow on the toe. These Oasis peep toes make me think of ballroom dancing shoes: they’re pretty enough to compliment a pretty dancing dress, but also simple enough not to overshadow it, and the colour is is one of those “works with almost anything” metallics I’m always banging on about. (I repeat these things only because they’re true…)

Like them? They’re £60 and you can click here to order a pair from Oasis.

Shoe Deja Vu: Matalan take inspiration from Christian Louboutin’s Dillian pumps

christian louboutin knock o Shoe Deja Vu: Matalan take inspiration from Christian Louboutins Dillian pumpsAh ha! I KNEW I should be recognising those orange Matalan pumps from somewhere when I tried them on this weekend! All I can say is that the colour must have blinded me, because it was staring me in the face the whole time:  the colour may be different, but these are definitely dead ringers for Christian Louboutin’s ‘Dillian’ pumps, aren’t they?

(I’m assuming Matalan were inspired by Louboutin, anyway, and not the other way around…)

If Matalan are going to make their versions of The Master’s designs, all I can say is I wish they’d gone for something other than this one, but if you fancy a pair of Louboutin look-a-likes, at least the price is a little more budget -friendly: the Louboutins retail for $2,875, the Matalan versions for, er, £18.

Shoeperwoman’s Shoes: A nautical (and windy) Sunday

I was going to wear my Office peep toes with this outfit, but I thought it might be a bit of a nautical overload (I’m obsessed with nautical at the moment. I can’t seem to help myself.) with the stripey blazer and sailboat necklace, so I changed my mind at the last minute and went for these tan leather slingbacks, which were a bargain buy from New Look over a year ago.

So tell me: what shoes are you wearing today, and what are you wearing with them?

Jimmy Choo sandals on sale at The Outnet

jimmy choo shoes Jimmy Choo sandals on sale at The Outnet

It only launched a couple of weeks ago, but already the first thing I do every morning is check the shoe section of TheOutnet.com. And then I check it again. And again. And.. oh, you get the picture.

This is basically Net-a-Porter’s warehouse, with old stock from the site being sold at what can sometimes be a serious discount. The problem with this – and the reason I’ve started to hate The Outnet almost as much as I love it – is that things sell out fast. Really fast. So fast, in fact, that even I, with my supersonic speed on the keyboard, have not yet managed to grab something in my size.

My loss is your gain, though: or it is if you’re a size 39.5 or 40, anyway, and have a few hundred pounds to spare on shoes. The Jimmy Choo sandals pictures above are only comparatively cheap: the ‘Electra’ sandals on the right of the picture are £325 and the lace suede sandals are £337.80, so they’re still what I would call “pretty damn expensive”, but you are saving over £100 on the original price,  so you may consider it a good deal.

Even if you don’t, I’ve seen Louboutins and Miu Mius come up on this site for around £140, so it’s well worth keeping your x-ray vision trained on it, just in case.

Shoe Deja Vu: Topshop’s ‘Samba’ and Boohoo’s ‘Lorrie’ shoes

toshop boohoo knockoffs Shoe Deja Vu: Topshops Samba and Boohoos Lorrie shoes

Just to prove that it’s not just the big-name designers who get to experience that sense of deja vu as they see their design crop up with someone else’s label attached, here’s Topshop’s ‘Samba’ cut-out peep toes, and Boohoo’s ‘Lorrie’. Spot the difference? Well, of course, there are lots of differences here, with the colour being the most obvious one, but there are a lot of similarities too - enough to make me do a double-take when I stumbled upon the second pair at Boohoo just a few hours after seeing the same design at Topshop.

Neither shoe is particularly to my taste, but if I had to pick, I’d probably go for the Topshop versions, which just look better quality to me, as well as being a nicer colour mix. If you’re judging them by price alone, though, the Boohoo shoes are a mere £25, compared to the £65 the Topshop versions will set you back.
