Repetto green leather dancing high heels

repetto green high heels Repetto green leather dancing high heelsOn the face of it, these are just high heeled Mary Janes, albeit in a rather vibrant shade of green. Something about them, though, makes my heart glad: I’m not sure if it’s the colour (which would obviously appeal to me!) or the slight curve to the heel, but, as the name suggests, they look like great shoes for dancing.

And now I have the Scissor Sister’s “I Don’t Feel Like Dancing” stuck in my head. Awesome!

‘Surreal’ green suede multi-buckle shoes from Topshop

toshop green suede shoes Surreal green suede multi buckle shoes from TopshopI don’t think there’s anything particularly “surreal” about these shoes, but I DO think there’s something rather lovely about them – and I’m not just talking about those green suede uppers, which were always guaranteed to win Shoeperwoman points.

This is another example of that multi-strap style I was talking about yesterday, and like the Schuh courts I featured, these also come in a bright, jewel colour. I think the open toe and shiny hold trim makes these more of an evening shoe, but you could probably also get away with wearing them with tights when the colder weather sets in. They’re £70 from Topshop.

Dune’s ‘Pav’ Swarovski embellished court shoes

dune pav peep toes Dunes Pav Swarovski embellished court shoesIt’s not just the designer shoes that are being covered in crystals and other embellishments at the moment: these shoes are from Dune’s Black Sand range, and as you can see, they’re certainly not missing out in the “bling” department!

I love the shape of these: the peep toe and the front of the shoe in general is really similar to the Miss Dior peep toes that have been popular for a while now, and that luscious green suede is guaranteed to get my attention, although of you don’t like it, these are also available in red and black.

At first, I was slightly disappointed to see the crystal-covered heels, because they’d stop me from wearing these during the day, but if you’re looking for an evening shoe with a lot of impact, I guess all those Swarovski crystals will certainly provide you with that!

These are down to £11o in the sale – get them from Dune.

ASOS green t-bar platform wedge shoes

Summer means wedges, and this summer wedges mean platforms. And when I say “platforms” I mean “even I would hesitate to try and walk in these”.*

Yes, 2009 is surely going to go down in Shoe History of the year of the gigantic platform soles, and our wedge friends haven’t escaped the trend. These ones from ASOS.com (who’ve claimed most of my disposable income this month, incidentally) are one of the higher pairs I’ve found, and as you can see, these are plenty high: in fact, the total heel height is 6,4″, so expect comments about the weather up there, buy yourself a pair of extra-long trousers (if, indeed, you’re going to be wearing them with trousers: I think a skirt or dress would show them off much more effectively) and, above all, make sure you don’t fall off them. Because that’ll hurt.

Of course, platforms of this height are often accused of looking like “stripper shoes”, but I think the fact that these are wedges rather than stilettos helps save them from that fate. They’re very striking, and pretty much guaranteed to turn heads, and if you want to buy them, they’re £85 from ASOS, and also come in a grey/black combo.

*Note: I wouldn’t really. My motto: “Anything you can do in flats, I can do in heels. Except maybe tightrope walking.”
