Miu Miu glitter-finish leather lace-up pumps

miu miu glitter lace up shoes Miu Miu glitter finish leather lace up pumpsYup, it’s yet another pair of glitter-encrusted Miu Mius, but these ones do at least come with a little bit of a difference, because unlike their shimmery sisters, these don’t have a massive heel/platform. That’s not to say they have a low heel, mind you: nope, it’s 3.5 inches, but there’s no platform, so these look a lot lower to my platform-jaded eyes. They also have a ribbon-tie front closure and zips at the back of the heel to make them a little easier to get on and off. Oh, and a £355 price tag, of course: mustn’t forget that.

Miss KG ‘Memphis’ bow slingback shoes

miss kg bow peep toe shoes Miss KG Memphis bow slingback shoes

I’ve been trying to stay away from the Kurt Geiger website recently, lest I fall into further temptation, but I ventured there today and happened upon these ‘Memphis’ bow slingbacks, which have a “daytime” look (black suede, fabric bow) and a “nighttime” one (gold glitter). Of course, you could wear either of them any time you like, but I’d be hard-pushed to choose between the two: I’m always drawn to black and cream combos, but the glittery gold is just so pretty, too!

These are £75 and you can click here to buy a pair from Kurt Geiger. Which ones would you go for?

    Miu Miu t-bar glitter sandals

miu miu t bat glitter sandals Miu Miu t bar glitter sandalsIf you’re anything like me, you probably had to stifle a bit of a yawn at the sight of the words “glitter” and “Miu Miu” in the same sentence. Glitter has become somewhat synonymous with the brand, but just as I think they must have run-out of variations on the theme, they manage to come up with something that instantly re-awakens my interest, and today that “something” is these t-bar sandals.

These have a beautiful shape, which reminds me a little of an old-fashioned dance shoe – an association which makes the glittery uppers even more appropriate, although I think I’d probably love these regardless of what the brand decided to use on the upper.

If you love them too, they’re $640 and you can click here to order a pair from Barneys.

Friday Night Louboutin Fix: Christian Louboutin Glitter-Covered Leather Peep-Toe Pumps

christian louboutin glitter pumps Friday Night Louboutin Fix: Christian Louboutin Glitter Covered Leather Peep Toe Pumps

OK, I’m sorry. You probably thought we’d left the glitter shoes behind us in 2010, didn’t you? Normally we would have: I’m not much of a one for fashion “rules”, but I do generally have a bit of a self-imposed “no glitter after New Year” rule when it comes to shoes, purely because I’m normally sick to death of the stuff long before then.

I also have a bit of a tradition of celebrating new years, new blogs, and all kinds of other things, by looking at pictures of glitter-covered Louboutins, and I don’t see why 2011 should be any exception to that. Well, we wouldn’t want it to feel left out, would we?

These are £531: click here to buy them at Saks.

    Topshop ‘Sakura’ glitter platform shoes

I showed you Topshop’s ‘Sakura’ platforms in teal way back in October, but as Christmas rapidly approaches, I thought I may as well throw caution to the wind and break out the glitter versions, too. Well, if you can’t wear glittery shoes in December, when can you?

The black uppers on these shoes actually make them a little more restrained, and a lot more wearable than some of their glitter-covered sisters: in fact, the effect is simply of shine and texture, as opposed to that “little kids’ craft project’ look that can sometimes result when you try to combine glitter and footwear. I love them, but am a little bit biased here, because I think I’d love these shoes no matter what kind of upper Topshop decided to put on them.

If you love them too, you can click here to view more photos and buy them: they’re £65.

Oh, and one more thing: they also do them in silver/multi:

Office ‘That Friday Feeling’ glitter court shoes with triangular heel

office that friday feeling Office ‘That Friday Feeling’ glitter court shoes with triangular heel

Let me begin this post by first of all stating the obvious: these are glitter covered shoes, which have been released just in time for the Christmas party season. Which always makes me think of that moment in The Devil Wears Prada when Miranda Priestly says, “Florals? For Spring? Revolutionary.” Well, it’s  hard not to feel just a little bit jaded when every shoe store around seems to think, “Hey, guys, it’s almost December! Better get the glitter machine rolling!”

That said, these shoes are called “That Friday Feeling”. And it’s Friday. And I don’t know about you, but I DO have that Friday feeling, so I felt almost obliged to show you them today. (It would’ve somehow been wrong to show them on a Tuesday, for instance. Wrong.) As glitter shoes go, I actually quite like them: the triangular heel is a nice touch, and there’s also three different glittery colours to choose from. Plus, they’ve just been reduced to £59.99 in the sale, so if you’ve set your heart on a glitter-covered Christmas, this is your moment to pounce.

ASOS ‘Party Time’ glitter sole peep toes

    by

glitter peep toe platforms ASOS Party Time glitter sole peep toesIs it just me, or does it seem like there are EVEN MORE glitter or sequin-covered shoes around than usual this winter? I mean, we always start to see a lot of them as the Christmas party season approaches, but this time around the glitter season was already in full swing by the end of September, and is continuing apace, with these appropriately-named “Party Time” peep toes the latest to get a dousing from the glitter gun.

These are £45 at ASOS, and are a little more subtle than some of their sparkly sisters, as the glitter is restricted just to the heel and platform. If you’d like them to be subtler still, however, the good news is that they’re also available sans glitter, in plain black, or with a leopard print sole and heel.
