Eek! Bruno Frisoni fringed sandals

bruno frisoni fringed sandals Eek! Bruno Frisoni fringed sandalsWell. I think we can probably all agree that these Bruno Frisoni sandals are just a couple of fringes too far. Am I right, or do you love them? And is anyone else uncomfortably reminded of the hooves of Shire horses when they look at these?

Personally I think a good rule of thumb is that when a shoe no longer resembles a shoe, and looks like it could possibly have a life of its own, it’s probably a good idea to just keep your credit card safely inside your wallet and keep on walking. That could just be me, though, so if you want to add these to your collection, you’ll find stockist information at the Bruno Frisoni website.

Faith ‘Cheveuxt’ court shoes with silver fringe

Fringes. They’re something I struggle to like even at the best of times. I’m tempted to say this isn’t the best of times, either, because these shoes? Remind me of those elderly people you sometimes see, who have grown their silver hair long, and wear it with pride. And good on them, you might say. Would you say it in the case of these shoes, though? Well, I’m going to leave that one up to you, although I WILL say that I’d quite like to see someone dancing in them, just to see those fringes swirl.

If you’d like that person to be you, they’re £85 from Faith.

Shoes from the Shows: fringed boots at Dolce and Gabbana S/S 2010

LFI DG Milan7 1 Shoes from the Shows: fringed boots at Dolce and Gabbana S/S 2010

Knee-high boots aren’t something I tend to associate with summer (although after the “summer” we’ve just had, I’m not really sure why not), but Dolce and Gabbana showed boots with everything at their Milan Fashion Week show this week, so maybe that’s about to change. This particular pair were worn with a short denim jumpsuit  (you know, as you do), and are really quite spectacular, with the fringing having an animal print on it, just to add to all of the other detailing.

Take a look under the jump to see the full look…

Gian Lorenzi fringed leather thigh high boots

thigh high fringe boots Gian Lorenzi fringed leather thigh high bootsWhat does everyone think of these boots? I’ve never been a friend of fringe particularly: I wouldn’t go so far as to say I hate it – it can look great on some people and some things - but it’s just not something that’s ever really appealed to me, so when I saw these fringe-backed thigh high boots by Gian Lorenzi, my first instinct was to grab a pair of scissors and give them a bit of a haircut.

Of course, that would probably be a shame, given that the fringing is what sets these boots apart from all of the other pairs of thigh highs (and there’s a LOT of them) around at the moment, so I’m going to sit on my hands and let you tell me what you think of them. Opinions?

Shoe Deja Vu: Gucci’s ‘Devendra’ Vs Laura Scott’s fringed boots

gucci laura scott Shoe Deja Vu: Guccis Devendra Vs Laura Scotts fringed boots

Laura Scott isn’t the only designer to find Gucci’s fringed ‘Devendra’ boots “inspiring”,  just the latest one, but although the boots on the right aren’t exactly the same as the ones on the left, I was definitely reminded of the Gucci’s when I found the Laura Scott versions at Look Again.

I loved the ‘Devendra’ boots when they first came out, but don’t think the shorter length of the “inspired” version quite works, somehow. If you do, they’re £59 from Look Again.

Ugly Shoe of the Day: Irregular Choice ‘Toulouse’ fringed sandals

6a00d8341c873353ef01156f94806f970c 800wi Ugly Shoe of the Day: Irregular Choice Toulouse fringed sandalsI should probably begin this post by saying that I’m an Irregular Choice fan. No, really: I know they’ve been responsible for some truly eyeball-searing sights in their time, but they’re always inventive, always original, and every so often they’ll come up with something stunning.

This isn’t one of those times, though.

These Toulouse sandals are one of a set of fringed footwear which The Fashion Police were forced to to arrest earlier today. (You can see them all here, should you so desire.) How they’ve handed them over to me so I can use my super powers to cast them into space, far, far away from human feet. If you’d like to get them back, however, they’re $72.45, and you can buy them at 6pm.com.
