OK, is anyone else seeing an expensive pair of slippers here? That Harry Potter would wear?
I’m possibly being uncharitable here, but that’s definitely what I’m seeing: and just to make things worse, they’re slipper-alikes that cost $629. Ouch.

Although I know Kate Spade shoes are hugely popular, I don’t tend to pay a huge amount of attention to the brand, which is perhaps a shame, because these ‘Felice’ pumps are one of the prettiest pairs of flats I’ve seen in…ooh, at least a week.
The pale pink (sorry, “blush”) and black combo is one of my favourites, and this particular shade of pink is close enough to nude to feed my current nude shoe addiction. The black bow, meanwhile, dresses these up nicely, and er, feeds my bow obsession. Wow, Kate Spade, do you actually KNOW me or something?
These are rather dressy for a pair of flats, but they’re also the kind of shoes you could easily wear with jeans, too, for a more casual look. They’re $199 at Zappos.

Although I’ve mostly been showing you a good, bad and downright ugly selection of shoes over the past couple of weeks, the real function of a shoe superhero is to help rescue you all from shoe disasters, so here’s my first mission, in the shape of a plea for help from Shoeperwoman reader Chloe (Who, by the way, has one of the cutest little puppies in the world: I know because she sent me picture. Squee!).
Chloe writes…
Hi Shoeperwoman!
I am after some shoe help. I use a wheelchair all the time but do stand/walk when getting into cars, going to the toilet etc. Because of this I am unable to wear heels as it isn’t very safe. I love the look of ballet pumps but have very high arches and scrunched up toes so ballet pumps don’t stay on my feet. I am after some flat, smart and cute Mary-Janes, preferably not too expensive! I can’t stand brogues or other flat lace up shoes so that’s not an option. Thanks in advance for any help!

Damn. Here was I, thinking my summer shoe wardrobe was more or less sorted, and then Topshop have to go and do this to me. Do they not realise how totally irresistible hearts-on-shoes are to me? Furthermore, how did they know my planned “capsule wardrobe” for my summer holiday this year (yes, I think about these things in advance. Look, it’s a tiny baggage allowance, and I like to bring a lot back with me!) revolves around the theme of navy and red? (I know the heart on those navy pumps is more of an orange but, hey, close enough…)
Just to make matters worse, these are only £22. Oh, Topshop, why must you place temptation in my way like this?
As well as the colours shown above, these also come in black with a bright blue heart, and you can buy them here. I’ve no idea why they’re “vice” hearts, though…
BUY: Topshop vice-heart front pumps, £22

I’ve been showing you a lot of vertiginous heels today, so just for a change of pace, here’s a pair of cute little canvas flats from Dorothy Perkins, perfect for the summer. Why, yes, I guess you could use my current favourite word – “nautical” – to describe them!
These are £18, and available in blue, red and yellow. I popped into Dorothy Perkins last weekend, and was actually really impressed by their shoe section at the moment: quite a lot of styles caught my eye that haven’t yet appeared on their website, so you may want to keep an eye out for them coming into stock.
In the meantime, you can buy these shoes here.

I’ve been thinking about holidays a lot recently. Well, actually, I think about holidays a LOT. But I’ll be flying off to sunnier climes in just over a month now, which means the time has almost come to retire my stilettos for a couple of weeks and slip into something a little more casual.
Me being me, of course, I don’t like to get too casual with my footwear, so my attention was grabbed by these ‘Bow Up’ sandals by Irregular Choice, which will make you look like Hermes (that’s the messenger of the Gods, by the way, not the expensive fashion label) with their winged heels. They’ll be just a tad too much for many tastes, but they’re definitely different, and I like the little contrasting bow at the ankle, which keeps them feminine. They’re also available in silver.
