Yes, it’s another bow-front court shoe, but the bow in this case is just a little bit different. The actual shape of these shoes is a tad matronly for me (there’s something about a chunky heel and rounded toe that always makes me think of the Queen, although I doubt she’d wear shoes this high!), but I do love the colour mix, which is dressy, but not so much that you’d be forced to save them for special occasions.

These are £250 from My-Wardrobe.

Katy Perry Waking Up in Vegas Party

I knew I recognised these shoes when I spotted them on Katy Perry at Haze Nightclub’s “Waking Up in Vegas” party (Um, spotted them in the photo, I mean. I wasn’t actually there, obviously…)! I showed you them back in August of last year: they’re by Dolce & Gabbana, and while I thought at the time that they were a nice use of the “studded with crystals” look, I also noted that they were pretty expensive, at $995.

That’s not such an issue for Katy Perry, obviously, and if it’s not an issue for you, either, you can grab these at Neiman Marcus. What do you think of Katy’s look?

Eeek! Dolce & Gabbana’s sock/shoe combo

Shoes like these just make me want to cry. I mean, it’s not that I’d necessarily want to wear plain court shoes with a pair of chunky socks anyway, but even if I did, I can still see no need for said shoes and socks to be actually stuck to each other. Surely it makes more sense, and would be more versatile, for the two items to be sold separately? I wouldn’t buy either of them if they were, of course, but if you would, head on over to Yoox.com. where these are currently on sale for £149.

dolce-Gabbana-peep-toe-slid

After the increasingly bizarre styles they brought us last year, here’s a more conventionally pretty shoe from Dolce & Gabbana.

I know slides tend to divide opinion: a lot of people find them difficult to walk in, and it’s true that the absence of any heel-grip can make them live up to their names and slide off, bu I’ve always had a bit of a soft-spot for then. These ones are delicate and feminine looking, and the fact that you don’t see a whole lot of slides around these days makes them just a bit unusual, too.

They’re $495 at Saks.

Lipstick suede court shoes by Dolce & Gabbana

dolce-gabbana-lipstck-court

Looks like Messrs Dolce & Gabbana are finding themselves inspired by faces, and particularly mouths, this season, because hot on the vertiginous heels of those suede face wedges I showed you earlier this week comes these lipstick courts. Which, as the name suggests, come with a lipstick attached to the toe. Well, it makes a change from a flower or a jewel, doesn’t it?

I have to admit that the beauty junkie in me did briefly experience a moment of excitement, wondering if the lipsticks were real ones. Having established that they’re not, though, I just think they ruin what would otherwise be a rather lovely pair of black suede court shoes.

Your thoughts?

Dolce & Gabbana’s suede ‘face’ wedges

dolce-gabbana-face-wedgesThese shoes freak me out. They look like they’re actually alive, and if I had them in my life, I’d probably spend most of my time feeling like someone was watching me. Such are the perils of an over-active imagination.

That aside, the design of these shoes doesn’t really appeal to me either. Call me crazy, but I just prefer my footwear to come WITHOUT a face, and these obviously fall short on that score. They are, however, pretty dramatic: they have a 15cm heel and 5cm platform, and even without the face, they’d be striking. With it, you have a guaranteed talking point, which I guess is something, at least. They’re £709 and are available from Far Fetch.

dolce-gabbana-swarovvski-crIf shoes absolutely must be covered in crystals or some other embellishment (and this winter it would appear that they must), I think this is the way to do it. These Dolce & Gabbana pumps have black suede uppers with a sprinkling of Swarovski crystal over the top.  Of course, any time the word “Swarovski” is mentioned in relation to shoes, you just know there’s going to be a hefty price-tag attached, and these are no exception: they’re $995, but if you think they’re worth it, they’re available from Neiman Marcus.

D&G Dolce & Gabbana closed toe butterfly pumps

d&g-butterfly-pumpsWhat was I just saying about butterfly-style shoes?

These are another example of that trend, although the butterfly effect is far more blatant here than in the shoes I showed you earlier today. These shoes take a bit of getting used to: the embellishments on the front are pretty extravagant, and take up a lot of air-space around your feet, which I know will put some people off. If you’re not one of those people, though, the shoes are $675 at Endless.com.

nude-bow-shoesShoeperwoman reader Mousy actually sent me a link to these D&G shoes a while ago, but I’m only now getting around to posting them, which just goes to show how organised I am.

I can totally see why Mousy liked these, though: of course the nude uppers and the bow would naturally appeal to me, too, although I think I’d probably prefer a finish other than lace. Still, a great shoe for a special occasion: they have a kind of decadent feel to them which makes me think of lingerie for some reason. That’s probably just me.

If you love these too, they’re by D&G, and will cost you £350 from here.

dg-peep-toes

All day today I’ve been finding the most adorable shoes, all on sale… and all only available in a size 5.

Given that I’m a size 4, this has made for a frustrating day, and I apologise if you’re now sharing that frustration, having realised that the shoes shown above are one of the pairs I’m talking about.

I’m a sucker for shoes in a red, black and white combination, and when those shoes are Dolce & Gabbana, and on sale for £119 (which, OK, isn’t cheap, but isn’t bad for D&G), I’m guaranteed to be even more smitten. I especially like the shape of the heel on these, and although I generally prefer my heels skinny, I think this shape works much better than a stiletto would here.

If you happen to be a size 5, you can pick these up at Yoox.com.
