Aruna Seth ‘Cerise’ diamante wedges in nude and black

aruna seth cerise shoes Aruna Seth Cerise diamante wedges in nude and blackWhen The Fashion Police wrote about these shoes last year, they received a really mixed response. Some people absolutely loved them, while others thought there was just WAY too much bling n’ bow for one shoe. The controversy was mostly caused by this:

It’s one hell of a heel, isn’t it? And I can totally understand why it wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste: it’s just so over-the-top that it’d be suitable for only the dressiest of occasions. If you have such an occasion to attend, though, I think this would be a show-stopper of a shoe, and the nude version could make a nice bridal shoe, too.

The two colours shown here are £625 from Aruna Seth, however there’s also a black snakeskin version which is even more expensive at £725. View them all at the Aruna Seth website.

    Stella McCartney diamanté-embellished platforms

stella mccartney diamante s Stella McCartney diamanté embellished platformsI was rather taken by these Stella McCartney sandals when they came out last year, but the price was so eye-wateringly expensive that I didn’t even given them a second thought. Now, however, they’re on sale at The Outnet, which makes them instantly more affordable, although whether you find £189 “affordable” is, of course, up to you.

Although these are past season, the diamante on the front means they won’t look out of place this winter either, given the current obsession with all that glitters. With that said, the mesh backs do make them seem more of a summery shoe to me. If you think you could make them work, though, you can buy them here - they’re also available in black.

    Valentino diamanté-embellished peep-toe pumps

valentino diamante peep toe Valentino diamanté embellished peep toe pumpsSo, I hadn’t actually intended to feature lots of heavily embellished/glitter-encrusted shoes today, but Net-a-Porter had a new delivery of their winter stock and, well, let’s just say it’s obviously going to be a very shiny Christmas. And an expensive one, too, apparently.

The trend seems to be for very ostentatious shoes, and the more crystals/diamantes/pieces of glitter you can cram onto them, the better. In general, this plan would have my full approval, because I’m a bit of a magpie where shiny things are concerned, but I’m actually not blown away by these Valentino peep toes, although I don’t dislike them either. Perhaps it’s just a case of “too much bling spoils the shoe”, who knows. What do you think of them?

I’m almost whimpering with desire here, and I’m sure I don’t even need to tell you why: these pretty much have “Shoeperwoman will LOVE these” written all over them. (Not literally, though. That would be silly.)

This is, of course, the classic Valentino bow peep toes, which I’ve already featured a couple of times, but if anything could make these shoes more special, it would be a diamante bow. So they gave them one:

I guess the chances of these beauties ever making it into the sale section are slim-to-none, but we can always dream, right? And if you’d rather do more than dream, you can buy them now for £575 at Net-a-Porter.
