Red ‘Heel of Fortune’ peep toes from Modcloth

red peep toe shoes Red Heel of Fortune peep toes from Modcloth

Red suede shoes? With a peep toe? And a flower detail? A POLKA DOT flower detail? Well, these may as well have had my name on them, no? I’d actually prefer them with either a full-wedge or a stiletto, but the demi-wedge shape is hugely popular at the moment, and it does help make these a little more interesting.

Of course, the suede isn’t real, but for just $39.99, I think I can forgive it. If you can too, you can click here to order these from Modcloth.

Yves Saint Laurent ‘Palais’ patent-leather platform pumps

yves saint laurent palais Yves Saint Laurent Palais patent leather platform pumps

This is a very different version of Yves Saint Laurent’s ‘Palais’ pumps from the last ones I showed you, which had blue suede uppers and slender stiletto heels. These, by contrast, are all about the chunkiness: the heel is so wide it’s almost a wedge, and these have a very retro feel to them, like something from the late 60s or early 70s. The uppers also have an elasticated area on the vamp, plus two straps to hold them on.

Judging by the images on the Net-a-Porter product page, I think these look better on than they do on their own – and even more like a pair of chunky wedges – but I still don’t think I could be persuaded to buy them, even if they were on a serious discount. As it is, these will set you back £720. What do you think of them?

Black suede court wedge shoes from River Island

black suede court wedge shoes Black suede court wedge shoes from River IslandHalf stiletto, half wedge, this shoe can’t quite make up its mind what it wants to be – and I can’t make up my mind on whether I like it or not. On the plus side, this shoe has a striking silhouette, and the gold piping between platform and upper is a nice touch, helping to break up the solid line of the demi-wedge. Actually, I think I’ve made up my mind: I do like them after all. Do you, though? If you do, click here to buy a pair from River Island, where they’re £59.99.

Versace turquoise demi-wedge sandals

versace turquoise sandals Versace turquoise demi wedge sandalsVersace have produced some stunning shoes over the past few seasons, and now that some of those styles are starting to filter through onto designer discount site, Yoox.com, it’s a very dangerous time indeed for the Shoeper bank balance.

These gorgeous turquoise sandals are sold out in everything but my size, UK 4, and if I was a little richer, I’d probably take that as A SIGN to snap them up. I’m not rich, though, and these are £315, so they’ll have to remain on the site, for someone else to snap up. Maybe one of my readers? If so, you can buy them here - they’re also available in cream, and in a UK size 7.
