The “Clear Shoe” trend: it’s spreading.

Jimmy Choo is the latest brand to decide that, hey, making shoes out of plastic may be a great idea, and you can see the evidence of that above. In JC’s defence, however, they’ve done this kind of thing before (I refer, of course, to the infamous light-up heels), and they’ve also managed to do it much better than most, here: in fact, if I wasn’t so opposed to the idea of see-through shoes, I might actually find some of the detailing on the heels quite beautiful:

Friday Night Louboutin Fix: Christian Louboutin Pindera 120 crystal-embellished pumps

christian louboutin pindera pumps Friday Night Louboutin Fix: Christian Louboutin Pindera 120 crystal embellished pumpsYou can already tell that these are going to be expensive, can’t you?

    Well, you’re right: they’re £1,945. Ouch.

That price puts them firmly into “not even if I HAD that amount of money to spare” territory, so let’s just gaze at them from afar, and perhaps wonder if we actually even like them, or whether they remind us too much of these? Or I’ll do that, anyway. If you’d prefer to just buy them, you’ll have to click here first.

I’ve already shown you one pair of totally extravagant shoes today, so I figured I may as well show you another: after all, what’s a couple of pairs of extravagant shoes between friends?

Thankfully this pair isn’t quite as much of a bank-breaker: in fact, they’re “only” £135, which sounds downright cheap to me after those Casadei’s I showed you earlier today. This is a slippery slope to be going down, though, so moving on…

Karen Millen describe these as “necklace” peep toes, presumably because they look like they have a particularly sparkly necklace attached to their heels. This is what I think of as a “Marie Antoinette” kind of shoe: it’s very conspicuous, very flashy… but I still somehow quite like it. Huh.

    What do you think?

PASTEL T-Bar Gem Detail Ankle Strap Sandals from Topshop

topshop pastel sandals PASTEL T Bar Gem Detail Ankle Strap Sandals from TopshopI think Topshop have gone just a little too far with this one. Bows OR pearls OR crystals might have worked. Hell, even a combination of just two of those things might have worked (although ideally not the crystals: they remind me too much of the ones on those Prada chandelier shoes from earlier this year, and I’d rather not be reminded of those shoes too often if that’s OK with everyone…), but all three of them? Not for me. Or, in other words, cut off everything but the bow, and we may have ourselves a deal, Topshop, but until then, my £120 remains safely in the bank.

Strappy sandals aren’t something I tend to pay too much attention to these days, purely because there’s just no call for me to ever wear a pair, and I must confess, they can all start to blend into each other after a while.

These ones, however, made me sit up and take notice, and I bet I don’t have to tell you why: it’s that huge ankle bow – does it for me (almost) every time. What I like most about this one, however, is the fact that it’s made of leather, which makes it much more hardwearing and luxurious, as well as much better at keeping its shape. Do I love it enough to pay £689 for these? Well, no: but if you do, click here to buy them from Far Fetch.

Friday Night Louboutin Fix: Christian Louboutin Maralena Crystal-Covered Mesh Peep-Toe Pumps

It’s one of those “I know I probably shouldn’t like them, but I totally do” moments for me, I’m afraid.

Oddly enough, I really disliked the version of these shoes that are currently shown on the Christian Louboutin website, and which have multicoloured crystals rather than silver ones. These ones, however, I love, and while I don’t normally go for mesh on shoes, I think these would look stunning on, when all you’d see would be the crystal sections and beautiful heel.

Any time Louboutin uses crystals, though, you know the resulting shoes will be even more expensive than usual, and these are no exception, at $2,445. Click here to buy them from Saks.

oscar de la renta snakeskin shoes Oscar de la Renta crystal embellished snakeskin slingbacksOscar de la Renta can always be relied upon to bring a little bit of bling to the party, no?

“The party”, of course, is where you’re most likely to be wearing these crystal embellished snakeskin slingbacks, but if you don’t have a handy occasion lined up that’s just screaming out for a touch of Oscar, don’t worry: just throw them on with a pair of jeans and call it an “outfit”. It is just a little bit of bling, after all…
