Here’s another pair of shoes Zara have been trying to tempt me with lately. These are part of the current collection, which means they’ve been right there to try on in every store I’ve visited this month, and I actually think they’re prettier in real life than they are in these photos. Not that they aren’t pretty in the photos, too, mind you:
That’s one blinged-up peep toe right there.
I’d normally find this much embellishment on the toe of a shoe way too much, but it somehow works on this one. I must admit, though, it’s really the teal suede that makes these a winner for me.
What do you think of them? They’re £69.99, and you can click here to buy a pair.
The white uppers say “wedding shoes”, but that crystal heel says… well, actually it ALSO says “wedding shoes, or at least shoes for some very special occasion, the likes of which Shoeperwoman never gets invited to,” doesn’t it?
Damn, I really want to get re-married now. I knew it was a mistake to watch the royal wedding on TV.
If you are getting married, or can think of another occasion on which white, sparkly sandals would be appropriate (I can think of loads, right off the top of my head. Walking the dog, for instance. Washing the dishes. Watching TV. Going to the supermarket. See? Totally versatile!), these are £535 at Net-a-Porter: click here to buy them.
As soon as I’ve hit “publish” on this post, I’m switching off the computer to go and enjoy the Easter long weekend, so I thought I’d leave you with the most Easter-appropriate pair of shoes I could find.
Oh, who am I kidding? These Brian Atwood sandals don’t really say “Easter” at all, do they? I just wanted to show you them. (And while I’m in the mood for confessing, I won’t actually be switching the computer off, either. As if I’d be able to survive for four whole days without access to the Internet! I LIVE on the Internet!) I’ve added in some chocolate eggs, just to make up for it. They don’t come free with the shoes, but with these shoes on your feet, who’s going to be thinking about chocolate eggs, anyway? (Me, actually. I’m always thinking about chocolate eggs, though).
Anyway, the shoes are by Brian Atwood, and are a whopping £2870 from here. And, with that, I’d like to wish a very happy holiday to anyone who has some time off this weekend: I’ll see you all on Shoesday!
I’ve been holding off on showing you these shoes, because I think I can guess what the reaction to them will be. Still, they’re THE stand-out shoe from the Spring/Summer 2011 collection, so how could they NOT feature as part of the Louboutin fix?
These are a staggering $5,995 in this particular, sparkly upper, but are a little cheaper in some of the other fabrics available. I’ve already spotted these on multiple pairs of celebrity legs, and I’ll say this for them: those clunky platforms sure make your legs look thin. Whether in a good way or in a bad way, I’ll let you decide.
I give you fair warning right now: you’re going to be seeing a lot of pairs of Giuseppe Zanotti shoes on this site over the next few weeks. I’ve tried to limit it to only the best of the bunch, but so many of the pairs of shoes I’ve instantly loved as I’ve scrolled through what feels like dozens of retail websites over the past few days have turned out to have the Giuseppe Zanotti label attached to them, so I apologise in advance for the slight obsession I’ve developed with the brand.
I’m starting off with one of the more OTT Zanotti styles of the moment. These crystal studded sandals are £1,010 at Net-a-Porter, and are even better from the back:
See what I mean?
At that price, I’d probably be afraid to wear them for fear of damaging them, but if you have no qualms on that front, you can click here to buy yourself a pair.
Jimmy Choo is the latest brand to decide that, hey, making shoes out of plastic may be a great idea, and you can see the evidence of that above. In JC’s defence, however, they’ve done this kind of thing before (I refer, of course, to the infamous light-up heels), and they’ve also managed to do it much better than most, here: in fact, if I wasn’t so opposed to the idea of see-through shoes, I might actually find some of the detailing on the heels quite beautiful:
