Cowboy boots tend to elicit extreme reactions, with some people hating them, and others wearing little else, depending on the time of year. I fall somewhere between those two extremes: I’m not fond of the highly-decorated boots you find in real Western stores, but I think a plain-ish pair in this kind of style can be fairly classic, and very wearable.

February is my least favourite month of the year, and although it is at least the shortest month, this year it’s felt particularly long and cold, and I just can’t wait for it to be over. The harsher-than-usual winter we’ve been having here is continuing to restrict my wardrobe choices, too: we’re still getting regular flurries of snow, and although they’re not sticking around for too long, when it’s not snowing it’s raining or sleeting, or just generally being cold and miserable, and when the weather’s like that, there’s not much for it but BOOTS.

These ones are by Vince Camuto. I picked them up in TK Maxx a few years ago: I can’t remember how much they cost, but I know it wasn’t very much, so although the toes are a little pointier than I’d like, I allowed myself to be seduced by the colour anyway!

Of course, after all of my complaining about the dark days of February, today dawned gloriously sunny, so I grabbed the opportunity to actually, you know, leave the house for once. Roll on Spring…
