Beautiful Bridal Shoes: Ivory corsage peep toes from Next

bridal shoes from next Beautiful Bridal Shoes: Ivory corsage peep toes from NextThese shoes weren’t in the “weddings” section (as far as I could tell, anyway), but I’m going to assume they’re bridal shoes anyway, because I just don’t see too many other people finding themselves in need of ivory shoes with giant corsages on the heels, do you?

Personally, I think the flowers are a little too much here, and would’ve had just as much impact, but been a little easier to wear, if they were ever so slightly smaller. If you can’t wear giant flowers on your heels when you’re getting married, though, when can you? So if you can see yourself walking down the aisle in these (or walking somewhere else for that matter), head over to Next, where you can buy a pair for £55.

Viktor & Rolf ruffle/corsage heel stiletto sandals

Well. These Viktor & Rolf sandals may be many things, but I don’t think they could be accused of being “boring” – and these are actually one of the tamer designs from the latest collection.

They’re yet another example of the shoe world’s current obsession with ruffles, and in this case the ruffles have been taken a little too far for my taste. The giant corsage I could live with, but the ruffles on the heel look like old fashioned bloomers to me: as if the stiletto heel is trying to modestly cover itself up, the way Victorians apparently used to cover table legs for feat they would offend someone’s delicate sensibilities.

But that’s just me.  If you love these so much you’re happy to spend $1,049 on them (gulp!) you can buy them here.

Dune ‘Klaudia’ corsage trim sandals in bright yellow

Oh, would you look at that, it’s winter again! Seriously, I drove to the supermarket yesterday, and it was freezing outside. And on the way back? Hail stones. I had to take off my peep toes and put on a pair of flats before I went. I HATE IT when that happens.

Anyway. Given that we still appear to be pretty far from summer here in the UK, I thought I’d cheer myself up by looking at these ‘Klaudia’ sandals from Dune, which are just about as sunshiny and summery as it’s possible for a shoe to be. I’m also liking the idea of embellished ankle straps at the moment. Yes, you could end up looking like a show pony, but it could also look fantastic, and having seen these shoes in this month’s issue of Cosmo, being worn by a model, I think they fall into the latter category.

These are £85 from Dune, and, as with the Oscar de la Renta sandals featured earlier this week, if you have a pair of shoes with ankle straps already, you could always DIY it by simply attaching your own corsage.
