These shoes aren’t my style AT ALL, but I’ve seen so many pairs of them, both in stores and on people’s feet, that I’m inclined to think I’m in the minority there, and they ARE everyone else’s style – or at least a lot of people’s. Am I right? Last time I went shopping, almost every store I went into was carrying some variation of this style, which was actually fairly disappointing for given that they weren’t at all what I was looking for, but I can see that these could have their attractions: they look like they’d be reasonably comfortable, for instance, and if you’re going for a more laid-back look, they could be perfect.

I kinda wish I hadn’t seen these shoes now. To see them is to want them, you see (or, at least, it is when you love stripes. Did I mention that I love stripes? Oh, only a million times, I see.), and they’re £70, which is just a little much this close to pay day. They’re VERY nautical, too, and I’d imagine will probably end up being the 2010 version of Office’s ‘Love Me Tender’ peep toes, which also had canvas uppers and lots of stripes.
These ones are called ‘Be My Sailor’ and also come in a black and grey leopard print. I wish they’d be MY sailor…
When it comes to fighting off the Bad Guys (Crocs, socks-with-sandals, people who think shoes are a waste of money…), sometimes superpowers just aren’t enough. Sometimes you need to resort to good, old-fashioned weaponry, and when you do, where are you going to store your bullets? Why, in a special holster attached to your shoes, obviously!

No, TOMS are remarkable in that for every pair sold, they donate another pair to a child in need. Isn’t that fantastic? I popped into Dorothy Perkins last weekend, and was actually really impressed by their shoe section at the moment: quite a lot of styles caught my eye that haven’t yet appeared on their website, so you may want to keep an eye out for them coming into stock.
