My first thought upon looking at these shoes? “Thank God they zip up the back!” Well, I can’t imagine wanting to sit and do up all those buckles first thing in the morning, can you?
Luckily, the buckles are just for show, and quite a show they make, too, with five gold buckles contrasting with the pale uppers and giving them a slightly military feel. They also have a 4.4″ heel and a 1″ covered platform, plus a rugged little rubber sole to make them easier to stay upright in on a frosty morning.
These are £45 and are also available in black: click here to buy them.

If these shoes weren’t so mind-bogglingly expensive (they’re £714), I’d probably really love them. They’re a nice take on the traditional strappy sandal: still strappy, still sparkly, but with three big over-sized buckles and some black leather straps to bring them up to date. Given that they ARE mind-bogglingly expensive, however, I… well, actually, I still really love, just from a distance. A really long distance.
