Luichiny Sav Vee blue suede effect wedge shoes with bow

Many years ago, back when I used to write for Shoewawa, one of the other writers wrote an “Ugly Shoe of the Week” post about a pair of shoes by Luichiny which were so ugly they literally made me gasp. Out loud. At my desk.

Thankfully for me, time has erased the details of those shoes from my mind, and I can’t actually remember what they looked like. What I do know is that I didn’t really pay a whole lot of attention to Luichiny after that, which is a bit of a shame, because it means I’ve been missing out on shoes like these cute little blue wedges, which come in a gorgeous shade of cobalt, with the super-high wedge making them very “now”. Oh, and they’re only $89.99, too.

Lesson learned: never again will I judge a brand by one pair of shoes!

Carvela ‘Assemble’ point toed bow pumps in light blue

A Valentino-esque bow with an almost Tiffany-blue upper? Well, I don’t mind if I do…

These shoes scream “Easter” to me, and, more specifically, “Easter eggs”. I guess that’s possibly a bit of an odd connection, but something about the colour and the bows really reminds me of chocolate eggs… and now I REALLY want some chocolate eggs, so let’s move on from that idea, shall we?

We don’t really celebrate Easter in our house (other than with the eating of vast quantities of chocolate, that is. Whoops, so much for not talking about it!) so there’s not much call to get dressed up for it. That’s never stopped me before, however, and I can see these shoes as part of the perfect Easter outfit: they’d look fabulous with most pastels, and have a very “ladylike” feel about them, which would make me want to add a cute little hat and maybe some gloves, too. Over the top? Maybe. But awesome, all the same…

These are also available in black, but really, where’s the fun in that?

Viktor & Rolf blue high heel bow sandals

I’ve never been a huge fan of Viktor & Rolf (I know it’s almost sacrilegious for a fashion blogger to say that, but it’s true), but there are a few pieces in the current collection which I can totally see myself wearing, and then, of course, there are these shoes.

Can I see myself wearing these? Well, I’m not sure. I mean, I LOVE them: that goes without saying. But I think they’re one of those styles that I’d really need to see on a foot to be sure about: the oversized bow is SO oversized that there’s just no telling what it would do to your legs. It could be fabulous, but then again, it’s not everyone who wants to have their ankles emphasized in this particular way, is it?

What do you think of these? They’re $860 and you can click here to buy them at Shopbop.

Red or Dead ‘Bardot’ platforms with ankle straps

These shoes are yet another pair of ‘Daffodil‘ dupes (I know Christian Louboutin can’t claim to have invented huge platforms, but something about the shape of the Daffs is very distinctive), although the addition of the ankle strap, and some different fabrics and uppers makes them seem less “inspired by” than some shoes I could mention – and probably already have.

It was the polka dot version  of these which caught my eye, but it’s actually the blue suede which won my heart. If you don’t like either, then perhaps you’ll prefer the basic black version which is also available… and if you don’t like those, well, I’m afraid I can’t help you.

If you DO like them, however, I can tell you that they’re £70, and that if you click here, you can buy them from Schuh. You’re welcome.

STUDIO TMLS blue ‘Diamante’ platform shoes

Speaking of Christian Louboutin’s ‘Daffodil’ pumps (which I kind of was earlier today), these are new in at Sarenza this week, and instantly reminded me of the blue ‘Watresnake’ Daffs: they have the same colour, and the same platform shape, no?

For that reason, I was seriously tempted by these: as some of you know, I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of blue pumps for a while now, and the Daffodil shape has definitely won my heart. I’m not quite sure if I could pull these off, though, and I also worry about the platform dating them very quickly. The black version which is also available may be a little more wearable, however, and at £105, they’re certainly cheaper than the designer version, so if you’re looking for some Loubie-lookalikes (I think that may just be my new favourite phrase), look no further!

You can click here to buy these from Sarenza.

Blue Mary Jane platform shoes from A|Wear

I know there are quite a few Mary Jane fans amongst my readers, so just for you, here’s a pair of bright blue MJs by A|Wear!

My own main problem with Mary Janes is that the style can look rather childlike at times. Not here, though: the high heel and correspondingly high platform ensure that these look nothing like your old school shoes (unless you went to a much more interesting school than I did, that is!), while the colour… I don’t even need to tell you what I think of this colour, do I?

If you’re not a fan of blue, these also come in pink. They’re £45, and you can click here to buy them.

Aldo ‘Peasel’ blue flats with rosette detail

It’s rare for me to find a flat shoe which makes me want to stop and take a longer look, as opposed to simply scrolling past, so when I do, I have to show you them! These ones are by Aldo, and for a style of shoe that doesn’t normally hold much interest for me, these actually have quite a few different features designed to grab the attention: the blue upper, the gold studs, the little red and white rosette, topped with a bronze button… these are shoes with a whole lot of personality, and it’s not often I get to say that about a pair of flats!

These are £40, and are also available in black: click here to buy them from Aldo.

Tosphop ‘Sultry’ snake effect blue platform shoes

topshop sultry blue platform shoes Tosphop Sultry snake effect blue platform shoes

This is the third pair of blue shoes I’ve featured today: well, I did warn you I was addicted! There’s just something about this colour that means I can’t just scroll by it. When I found these shoes, though, I was really pleased to come across a blue upper that isn’t suede: for some reason, most of the blue shoes I find seem to be suede ones, and as much as I love it, it’s not always the most practical fabric for footwear. These use snake-effect leather instead, so while the colour is just as vibrant, they may be a little more weatherproof.

These shoes are from Topshop, they’re called ‘Sultry’, and they have a hint of Louboutin’s ‘Daffodil’ about them, thanks to that huge platform and pointed toe. Thankfully, they don’t have a hint of Louboutin’s pricing about them, though: these are £88, and you can click here to buy them online at Topshop. What do you think of them?
