I’ve actually shown you these shoes before, in white, as part of a bridal shoe roundup. I make no apologies for showing you them again, though, because:
a) They’re absolutely stunning
and
b) When I last featured them here, I was bemoaning the fact that they were only available in white, and looked very definitely “bridal”. Now, however, they’re available in this lovely shade of blue, they’re still stunning, and I want them even more than I did a few months ago. At $154, they’re not too expensive, either. Get them at Zappos.
I think I’ve mentioned before that I’m currently a little bit obsessed with blue in general, and with navy in particular, so it was actually the colour of these shoes that caught my attention first, rather than the much more obvious chainmail detailing around the ankle. Once you’ve noticed the chainmail, though, it becomes impossible to ignore, and that’s the whole idea. These sandals are actually quite interesting, because they mix a daywear style with a sequined upper, which is something I generally associate with evening shoes. Sequins are becoming more and more popular on daywear, though, so you could probably get away with wearing these anywhere you like, and dressing them up or down as the occasion required.
What do you think of them? If you like them, head over to ASOS, where you can buy a pair for £40.
Oh, great: I’m going to have Elvis in my head ALL afternoon now! And granted, these aren’t quite the kind of “blue suede shoes” he was talking about, but if they were mine, I wouldn’t want anyone to step on them either. I love everything about these shoes: the colour is the obvious attraction (and hey, I don’t believe I currently own a pair of shoes in this particular shade of blue!), but the shape is also a draw for me, because although the platform is large, the heel has a slight curve to it, and the toe is fairly pointed, making these look a little less clumpy than many other platform designs.
These are also available in black, and if I didn’t already own more than enough pairs of black shoes already, I’d be coveting those, too. As it is, I’ll stick to the blue pair, which are £65 at ASOS.
P.S. I added a Google Friend Connect widget to the sidebar (over on the right). It’s the same thing as Blogger’s followers widget, so feel free to follow me, and make me feel a little less alone!
Erin bought herself a pair of these Irregular Choice shoes while she was in the UK last month, and I’m totally envious, because I think these are absolutely gorgeous! That extravagant, sequined flower on the front is the obvious talking point here, but I also really love the colour of these shoes. There’s something very decadent about them, too, which is Irregular Choice at its very best.
These are currently down to £40 in the Schuh sale, but they’re low in stock, so if you want to grab a pair, you might want to do it fast…
Don’t you just hate it when you find a pair of shoes that are perfect in every single way… but one? I love almost everything about these Rene Caovilla sandals, but the one thing I don’t like is something of a deal-breaker: it’s that fussy little metal heel sticking out of the bottom of the “wedge”. Now, granted, metal heels are one of my personal pet hates, so perhaps other people will be able to look past it to the beautiful shoe beyond. I’d have loved these even more with a different heel, but if this one works for you, you can pick up a pair here, for £365.
Yeah, I know: it’s a ruffle with a zip on it. Haven’t seen THAT before, have we?
Sarcasm aside, the “ruffle-trimmed-with-a-zip” look doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast, and more than one shoe designer seems to have wholly abandoned themselves to it lately. Faith are the latest brand aboard the bandwagon, with these ‘Clippy’ court shoes, and as much as I’m starting to find the zip/ruffle thing a little bit tired, I just can’t dislike these: not when they’re bright blue, suede, and cute. (And the black’s not bad either.) These also come with another benefit: a heel which is that bit lower than the usual skyscrapers, although it’s still not exactly what you’d call “low”.
A simple, suede court shoe, but of course, sometimes “simple” is exactly what you’re looking for – and if it just so happens to come with a bow on top, well, so much the better!
These little ‘Phoenix’ pumps from Office will take you just about everywhere, and come in three different colours. I’m instantly drawn to the purple, but I’ve been buying a lot of blue recently, so I suspect I could probably find some space in my closet for those, too. And, you know, you ALWAYS need a nice pair of black pumps, don’t you? Whoops! Sucked in again!
It used to be the case that the phrase “statement heels” would invariable be used to refer to stilettos, or sandals of some kind, but these days wedges are hitting back, and making some pretty strong style-statements of their own.
These blue ‘Garbo’ wedges by Carvela are about as eye-catching as it’s possible for a pair of shoes to be, with the combination of the bright blue colour, super-high heel, gold accents and cage front all combining to make one hell of a shoe. Whether you like them or not is a whole other matter, of course: personally I think they’re of the “great to look at, wouldn’t actually wear” variety, but if you like your shoes loud, you may just love them. If you do, they’re £150 at Kurt Geiger, and they’re also available in black.
