It’s one step forward and one step back today as far as the Shoe Challenge is concerned, because although I DID wear these shoes this weekend, and can thus cross them off my list, I also BOUGHT them this weekend, which means I’ve made no actual progress at all. Whoops.
I’m not going to be too hard on myself, though, because I think the shoes in question are worth the lack of progress. I actually bought a pair of these in black a couple of months ago, and have been wanting the pink ones ever since, but it was only when I actually saw them in person, and realised that they’re such a pale shade of pink that they almost qualify as nude, that I realised I couldn’t possibly leave the store without them.
For some reason, this style comes up really, really small. I have lots of shoes from New Look, and they’re almost all a size four, but I had to go up to a UK 5 for both these and the black versions: the size four was absolutely tiny, but the size fives fit perfectly in both the black and the pink, so I’m assuming this style just runs very small.
Tonight is Oscar night (Which I’m going to be live-blogging for The Fashion Police), so I decided to go with a classic, vaguely Hollywood-inspired outfit, which also helps tone down the five-inch heels a little. The fluffy dog accessory helps, too…

My apologies for bringing you another pair of River Island shoes so soon after the last pair or seven. They’re still at it, though, bringing out new and covetable shoes every day, and while these ones aren’t quite as tempting as some of the others I’ve featured recently (that platform is just a little too high to be really wearable), they still managed to catch my eye as I flicked through the site this morning.
