Shoeper Shoe Challenge: The Shoemandments

shoepe shoe challenge rules Shoeper Shoe Challenge: The Shoemandments

For those of you thinking of joining my Shoeper Shoe Challenge, here’s a full list of the rules:

The Basics

  • You must wear every pair of shoes/boots in your collection at least once within the space of a year.
  • Each pair of saved shoes must be photographed as “proof”: no cheating!
  • “Use it or lose it”: any pairs of shoes you don’t wear before the end of the challenge must be disposed of in a manner of your choosing: sell them, donate them, bin them – it’s up to you.
  • You must document your progress by logging each “save” on your profile in our Shoeper Shoe Community.

The Shoes

  • Count your shoes and boots before you start. If you have any pairs you know you won’t wear within the next year, now is the time to get rid of them!
  • If you wouldn’t wear a particular pair of shoes as part of an “outfit”, it doesn’t count towards your total: that means you can exclude things like workout shoes (unless you typically wear them as part of your day-to-day outfit), wellies, gardening/driving shoes, ski boots, riding boots – anything, in fact, that has a purely practical purpose. (Of course, if you particularly WANT to include those shoes in your total and make things harder on yourself, you’re welcome to do that too!)
  • If you have shoes which you’re unlikely to wear, but which have sentimental value to you (wedding shoes, etc), you’re free to exclude them from the challenge – just don’t include them in your total.
  • You can buy as many shoes as you like during the challenge – but you must wear any additional pairs before the end date!
  • You can also get rid of shoes during the challenge if you wish – the purpose isn’t to force you to wear shoes you no longer like, or which don’t fit, so if you’d rather get rid of shoes as you go along, that’s fine.

The ‘Proof’

  • You must photograph each pair of shoes as you wear them. You don’t have to photograph yourself wearing the shoes if you don’t want to – it’ll be more fun if you do, though!
  • You must log each shoe save in the S.O.S. Shoe Challenge Community, by registering for a profile and uploading your shoe photos to it: you can also use your profile to chat to other Challenge members.

Bloggers:

  • You’re welcome to blog about your challenge on your own site, but we would really appreciate you linking back to Shoeperwoman from your posts to help our community grow!  Thanks so much for your support! Please feel free to grab a badge below:

    Hi everyone!

I’m hoping to do another challenge this year, although probably not in the same format as this one (similar, though). I’m still working out the details at the moment :)

I will actually do the challenge this year! Last year I saw the shoe challenge in November and I was like ‘Darn! Wel… I’m not gonna do it this year since summer’s past already… NEXT YEAR!!!’. So…. yeah. I love your shoes by the way, they range from just adorabubble to chic and sophisticated.

I am trying to get a badge on my wordpress.com blog but I am having trouble. It seems like it should be easier than it is. Google is no help either. Are you familiar with how to do this? Hate to be asking a technical question. Sorry!

Hi @dmgirl (Eirka) I am shoeperwoman’s husband and tech support :) If you email me at terry@hotigloo.co.uk I can help you add the badge. You can either give me the login details or I can talk you through doing it yourself
