Shoeper Shoe Challenge # 74: Penultimate

What: Dorothy Perkins nude court shoes
When: Friday, January 21st, 2011
Where: Date night
With: Purple dress (ASOS), belt (no idea)

It’s the second last pair in the Shoe Challenge, folks! And, annoyingly, I picked a really bad time of day to try and photograph these, because although they’re a lovely nude patent in real life, under the flash they come out looking almost white. And here was I thinking they didn’t even make nude shoes pale enough to match my pale skin!

A slightly better attempt at capturing the colour.

I think I’m going to try and wear the final pair this weekend, so I can wrap up the challenge and sleep easy, knowing that all my babies shoes are safe. The countdown begins!

  • You are always beautiful πŸ˜€
This dress retro-style is really lovely and these pumps also great! I’m another super-pale an never a nude shoe could macht with me hahahahaha XD

    • I thought that too, but these are really super, super pale – they’re not as white as they look here, but they’re still paler than my skin tone, which is amazing! I think a light tan would actually be better…

  • I’m surprised these didn’t make your rotation sooner. They’re lovely, and congratulations on being almost done with the challenge. πŸ™‚

    • I am too, actually… I think it’s probably just because I’ve been stuck in boots for so long now: I can’t wait to get my shoe collection back when the weather starts to warm up!

    • Thank you πŸ™‚ It’s one of my favourite colours to wear – this dress is actually a nicer purple than it looks here: it’s so hard to get the colours to show up accurately when you’re shooting indoors at this time of year!

      • I love that dress as well. I always wear skirts and dresses and it’s so hard to find dresses that length (which is my fav) πŸ˜‰ You look beautiful in it.

  • they have such a classic,elegant shape!
I can’t believe the challenge is almost over! I’m gonna miss it so much…

  • I am so gonna miss the shoe challenge. hope you keep posting pics of your shoes even when it’s done.. oh btw: was wondering, I had a feeling your shoe challenge STARTED with like 75 pairs? and I know you bought a few (really pretty:)) pairs during the year.. so have you gotten rid of some shoes during the shoe challenge? was just wondering:) anyways, happy weekend!

      • I admire your perservence, I’m constantly hearing from my boyfriend and mother that I should adopt that system but I just can’t! Even though I know that 11 months from now, when my own shoe challenge is done, there will be a few shoes that will be in the bag to Salvation Army. I haven’t worn my three pairs of Naot that were uber-fashionable in my school in 9th and 10th grade since, well, 10th grade, but I can’t bear to part with them because I have a niggling feeling that if I toss them I’ll suddenly encounter a situation where I need a pair or three of Israeli Birkenstock’s.

Just like when a shoe has lost its mate and I finally throw it out, four out of five times the missing shoe shows up.

  • I love those! I’ve had “nude closed toed pumps” on my to-get list for a while now but I haven’t found a pair I really love yet. Also I have a pair of nude open toed pumps but I rarely wear them because when I bought them online I missed the part that said they were 5 1/4 inches high. I’m 5’7 and a half as it is so those make it so I tower over all my short Jewish friends.
