J. Crew + Sophia Webster is a match made in shoe heaven, as far as I’m concerned. All of the design flair and little, unique touches that Sophia Webster is known for, but toned down slightly by the classic wearability we associate with J. Crew. These ‘Nicole’ sandals offer the best of both those worlds: they’re a little more fashion-forward than many of J Crew’s own-line offerings (that’s not a criticism of J. Crew, by the way – I think their success lies in their ability to create true modern classics, which never go out of style…), but not so much that they’ll be 0ff-putting to those who find the typical Sophia Webster shoe to be over-the-top.
I love the iridescent leather upper on these, and although I don’t normally go for neon, the little flashes of bright yellow do add a little something extra to the design, and give the overall effect a more modern feel.
Also from the J. Crew + Sophia Webster collaboration are these ‘Lola’ floral pumps:
The look is a spring classic, which should be very wearable – the shape, however, is pure Sophia Webster: it’s a pointed pump, sure, but it’s a particularly delicate one, which will be instantly recognisable to fans of the brand.
If I was buying any of these, there’d be a good chance of one of these “accidentally” dropping into my online shopping basket at the same time:
This is exactly the kind of thing I always associate with J Crew – you just can’t go wrong with a classic Breton stripe top, and you can’t have too many of them either. Throw it on with a pair of jeans, and maybe those floral pumps up above, and you have a look which is understated, but still totally chic.
