Are you sick of sequin shoes yet? I don’t know about you, but I see so many sequins and glitter over the course of an average Christmas season that by the time we get to January, I’ve sworn off the stuff for life. There’s always a pair of shoes to re-ignite my interest, though, and this year those shoes are Moda in Pelle’s ‘Kriss’ platforms, shown above.
Now, these definitely have their fair share of sequins: in fact, they’re absolutely covered in them, with only the matte gold stiletto heel remaining sequin-free. They also have a high 13cm heel, and an curved platform, so they’re definitely not the kind of shoes that will simply fade into the background (Not that you’d ever want them to, of course: what’s the point of fabulous shoes if not for them to be seen?): in fact, these shoes are just begging to go dancing all night, before catching a cab home at 5am, a little the worse for wear.
They are, in other words, the quintessential pair of party shoes, and if you’re thinking January is totally the wrong time to be thinking about party shoes in general, and sequin shoes in particular, well, think again: I’m a big advocate of shopping out of season (think winter coats in July, and bikinis in December…) because that’s when you tend to get the best bargains, and just to prove my point, these are currently on sale, and down to just £48 at Spartoo. Of course, the bad news (you just knew there’d be some bad news, didn’t you?) is that sale prices tend to mean low stock: these are still available in UK sizes 3, 4 and 6, but if you don’t wear one of those, I’m afraid you’re out of luck.
