Well, these are just as sweet as cherry pie, aren’t they? And there was obviously no possible way for me to avoid saying that, once I’d read the name of them: sorry.
These are the latest offerings in my continuing quest to bring you shoes that don’t have skyscarper heels: these come in at 3.5″, which isn’t exactly “low”, either, but is still a good bit shorter than the 5″ platforms we see so much up, and isn’t it nice to see a cute design applied to a lower heel?
I , of course, like the polka dots, and I also like the little berry decoration on the toe (Which looks more like a blackberry than a cherry to me, but hey, let’s not pick hairs. Or even fruit.), which is something a little bit different.
They look nice on, too:
Fancy a pair? These are £45, and you can click here to buy them at Schuh.
Every time I look at these Jimmy Choo sandals, I find myself wanting to say “hubba hubba”. Which is honestly weird for me, because if you knew me in real life, you’d know that I NEVER say “hubba hubba”.
Apparently I do now, though, because these shoes? Fabulous. Also, expensive. We’re talking £724, here. Worth it? Well, I’ll let you decide…
OK, I think I’m just going to have to re-name myself “Striperwoman” here. Is that OK with everyone?
Look, it’s not really my fault. Well, OK, it IS my fault. But am I slightly less to blame than I usually am for showing you lots of pairs of stripey shoes. You see, fashion seems to be going through one of those stages at the moment where it has aligned perfectly with my own personal tastes. The stores are just FULL of stripes, polka dots and the colour green. It is TORTURE for me, seriously. I mean, I know stripes and polka dots are always around in some form or another, and green has been quite prevalent too over the past couple of seasons, but at the moment I feel like I can’t visit a retail website without adding about 10 more items to my Wish List: or to my “To Be Blogged” list at the very least.
Which brings me to these River Island sandals. They have stripes. They have a bow. I wish they didn’t have a raffia platform, but they do, and I will live with it. They have a red twin, which…
…I really don’t like at all, actually.
The blue version, however: the blue version I would happily wear, even although there’s a good chance they’d made my ankles look like tree trunks. I think I’ll put that theory to the test next time I’m in River Island…
If you want to put it to the test RIGHT NOW, however, they’re £65, and you can click here to buy them.
And just in case you don’t believe me that fashion is deliberately trying to taunt me right now:
This is the second pair of Gucci shoes I’ve shown you this month, but as soon as I laid eyes on these little beauties, I knew I’d have to feature them. The words “Mary Jane” and “chain strap” wouldn’t normally set my world on fire, because neither are particular footwear favourites of mine (and it’s very, very rare that I like a chain on a shoe), but I actually like everything about these. Mt love for the green suede upper is a given, but I’m also keen on the shape of the peep toe, the delicacy of the straps, and even the gold heel, which is another thing I ordinarily wouldn’t go for.
Would you go for these? If you would, the bad news is that you’ll need £831. The good news, however, is that you can click here to pre-order them from Nordstrom: enjoy!
Now, you all know Brian Atwood is a shoeperhero of mine. And you may also know that I can be partial to a bit of raffia on a shoe – it reminds me of summer, and really, anything that reminds me of summer gets the thumbs up from me right now. Almost anything, that is.
These shoes, though? These shoes make me want to get the scissors out and give ‘em a haircut. And trust me, I’m really, really bad at haircuts.
I don’t want to just dismiss them out of hand, though, so I’m placing the decision in your hands, shoeper readers. Are these shoes Shoeperheroes or Shoepervillains? Tell me!
These are the kind of shoes I always feel like I shouldn’t like quite as much as I do: they’re unashamedly glitzy and girly, and every time I look at them, the word “disco” pops into my head, and won’t get back out.
Still, I DO like them: they’re very typical of Miss KG, who’ve released a few variations of this kind of style in the past, and they’d be fabulous on a night out, with the ubiquitous little black dress, or, indeed, any other kind of dress, or pants, or skirt, or … you get the idea: they’re gold and black, there won’t be too many things you won’t be able to wear them with, if you really want to.
Like them? They’re called ‘Patsy’, and they’re £80: click here to buy a pair.
You know how bloggers are always saying things like, “I spat coffee over my keyboard when I seen it!” or “I let out a little scream at the sight of them!” and you know they didn’t REALLY do those things, they’re just saying it for dramatic effect?
This isn’t one of those times. I actually DID let out a gasp and an “OMG” when I came across these Nicholas Kirkwood sandals. Luckily the dog was the only person (shut up, he is too a person!) in the room at the time, and he’s used to me talking to myself, so I think I got away with it.
I feel like gasping again every time I look at them, though. I mean, don’t you? I want to look at them all day, then I want to sit up late and look at them some more. And I want to buy them in every colour, even the multicoloured snakeprint, which I’d normally hate.
These aren’t available to buy yet, but that’s probably a good thing, given how much they’ll cost…
I’ve no idea how I missed these sandals when they first arrived at Net-a-Porter, but I’m very glad I’ve seen them now, because they’re just beautiful, aren’t they?
I’ve always been a big fan of shoes with “wave” like details on them (I know these don’t actually look like waves, due to the colour scheme, but I’m sure you know what I mean!). It’s such an easy way to turn an ordinary shoe into an extraordinary one, and it’s definitely worked in this case. The bright red heel just makes them even more perfect!
These are by Vionnet and they’re an ouch-worthy £575: click here to buy them.
