This isn’t the first time you’ve seen these shoes, but it IS the first time you’ve seen them in this particular colourway, so no apologies from me: River Island’s pom-pom obsession was one of the more fun things about last summer’s fashion, so I for one am happy to see them repeat the look for winter, with this leopard print upper.
I’ve already talked at length about the shoes themselves, however, so I’m just going to ‘fess up here: I’m really just featuring them because I also wanted to show you this dress, from the same brand:
Not only do I love the shape of this dress (a very classic shape, but with a bodycon fit, to make it a little more contemporary), and colour/print (pale green is one of my favourite colours), I also like the fact that it’s one of those perfect wear now/wear later pieces, too. Wear it now with with black tights and a fitted cardigan, or wear it in warmer weather with bare legs and a pair of sandals or peep toes. Oh, and the scuba fabric won’t crease too easily, either, making it as low-maintenance as clothing gets.
If you like the shape, but not the print, however, I also love this one:
This is such a classic that it went onto my wish list as soon as I laid eyes on it. I’d wear it in summer with either red peep toes or perhaps white sneakers, if I was going for a more casual look, and maybe a denim jacket over the top, just in case it got a chilly. A white or navy blazer with a pair of stilettos, meanwhile, would smarten it up nicely, and a slick of bright red lipstick would be the only accessory you’d need. No wonder it’s proving so hard for me to resist…
