Ravel sandals, £45.50
Ravel are on a roll this season. I loved their red patent Mary Janes, and I also love these cage-front sandals, which are currently reduced to £45.50 at Dorothy Perkins.
These shoes are notable, not just for the lovely purple and silver colour combination (Very autumnal indeed), but also for the chunky heel, which is just under 4 inches: high, sure, but not nearly as high as many shoes in this style. When it comes to party shoes, spindly heels and high platforms are generally the order of the day, but not here. “Sensible” definitely isn’t the right word for them, but there’s definitely something substantial about them: they look the kind of shoes you could dance all night in, without wanting to kick them off in the taxi on the way home. I could be totally wrong about that, of course, but the height and shape of the heel, combined with the ankle strap for added security, all make me think these could be one of the more comfortable evening sandals out there.
All too often in the world of shoes, comfort comes at the expense of style, but that’s not the case here either, and these have a glamorous, vaguely-vintage feel to them which I like.
If you like it too, you’ll be pleased to know that these are also available in a black and gold upper, and are also on sale at Dorothy Perkins.
